Approach and exposure
Locate center point
Introduce K-wire
Ream glenoid
– Protect prepared humerus with a protection cover – Glenoid exposure must permit use of straight instruments
– Center point is slightly inferior to the midpoint of Saller‘s line
– Introduce a K-wire using the drill guide
– Ream clockwise – Correct inclination in the horizontal plane – Correct inclination in the frontal plane

Drill peg holes
Introduce trial glenoid
Implant all-poly glenoid
Insert glenoid
– Drill the distal hole first, using a shorter (150 mm) drill – Depth of drill hole depends on glenoid type – Leave drill in place for rotational stability
– Glenoid size must match size of humeral head implant
– Introduce a small amount of bone cement into the two drill holes – Avoid cement under the faceplate
– Impact the glenoid implant with light taps of the 350 g hammer on the glenoid impactor
