Recent Posts RL Ninja Night Race: One for the History Books
General Information The second Ninja Night Race will be held on Thursday – January 16, 2014 at Balboa Park – Morley Field. This USA Cycling sanctioned event is the first sanctioned race series that happens exclusively at night so you will need lights to compete. You do not need a USA Cycling license in order to compete in Cat 2 and Cat 3 – ‘day only’ memberships are available at registration.

Racers are scored by catagory and 5 year age group: Pro / Cat 1 / Cat 2 / Cat 3 (also Single Speed, Clydesdale). Pro = Professional (annual license required) Cat 1 = Expert (annual license required) Cat 2 = Sport Cat 3 = Beginner
Start Time 7:00 pm Course open for pre-ride at 5:00pm
Safety In addition to all of the normal safety rules associated with a USAC event we are also implementing the following: You must race with both a light on your bars and a light on your helmet. Total lumens of your setup must be 1000 or more. Light output will be measured at event registration. Crossing the finish line without your lights working will result in an automatic DNF, no exceptions.

We are also excited to offer cash prizes for our pro and cat 1 riders.
Awards Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each category. In addition to individual category awards at the race, Cat1/Pro riders will compete against each other for the 3 fastest times of the night to earn $CASH$ prizes as follows: Pro/Cat 1 Men: 1st – $100 2nd – $75 3rd – $50 Pro/Cat 1 Women: 1st – $120 2nd – $85 3rd – $60 The awards ceremony will immediately follow the race.
Registration The January 16th event has limited space, be sure to sign up as soon as registration opens to secure your spot at this history making event! REGISTRATION OPENS MIDNIGHT ON DECEMBER 15TH You will also need to complete liability waiver, safety check, and lighting check at the event.
