Thanks to your fabulous support, we raised a whopping £ 10,000.01 for the school in the autumn term. This term has got off to a great start with a Valentine’s Disco which raised £ 392 and a coffee morning, marking the 30 th Anniversary of the school, making a further £72.50. Many thanks to those who baked, bought, helped and danced!
Celebrating 30 years Our school is 30 years old this year and there will be lots of ways that we are celebrating this landmark.
Usk School Alumni Calling all past pupils. We’ve set up an Usk School Alumni Facebook page and lots of old school photos have already been posted, including those taken at the coffee morning of ex-pupils and their children who are currently at the school. So, if you were once at the school don’t forget to ‘Like’ the page and spread the word to friends and family. Liz Baker has kindly offered to get the Alumni group going and would welcome some more help. If you can spare a little time to give her a hand, please contact Meirion or Sarah. We’ll also be holding an 80’s School Uniform themed Disco on Friday 12th June, for all parents, so pop the date in your diaries and dig out the leg-warmers!

We are sure that there are lots of budding entrepreneurs out there, so we will be sending out £1 to every pupil, before the Easter holidays, and asking them to invest it and multiply it to raise funds for the school. They could buy a sponge to clean cars; flour to bake cakes to sell; craft items to make Easter cards/pictures, etc. There will be a prize for the child who has made the most money in each year group and a prize for the most ingenious idea in infants and juniors. There’ll be a presentation to give them some ideas on Monday 23rd March and letters, texts and £1 will be sent out at the same time.
