Expedition aim idea: To look at different historical features on the expedition route. How could you do this on expedition? Where the historical features are marked on the map add activity time to the relevant leg on your route card. Features could include battle grounds, museums, castles, cairns, stone circles, trig points, monuments, tumuli, course of roman roads, bridges… What is it? Is it named? Where is it? How big? Is there anything left of it? How old? What was it used for? Is there a story behind it? You could do some research on the internet before your expedition about particular features. Take photos of the features, draw them.
