Year B Paul for Today (Romans) Spirituality and Prayer Christian Ethics. Will I get any qualifications?

How much does it cost? We ask for a donation of £20 per term for materials and books, payable via the facilitator. This can be at the discretion of the facilitator and course director.

Only if you want to. Modules carry credits from Glyndwr University, and it is possible to gain a graduate certificate or a diploma as part of this programme.

I can’t use a computer, is this a problem?

Is there any written work?

However, if you are following the course for credit then some computer knowledge is necessary as most communication is by email, and we are working towards a system of submitting essays online.

Again, only if you want to. There are very short written responses or reflections for some of the sessions and these can eventually form part of the assessment, if you decide to claim the credits.

No, not if you are attending the group out of interest as all material is printed.

I am interested in doing this course, what do I do next?

However, it is possible to follow the course simply to learn more and contribute to the discussions. It is completely up to you.

Contact: Manon Ceridwen James on [email protected] or parish phone 01492 516728.

What are the assessments like?

She will put you in touch with your nearest group and facilitator.

If you decide you would like to do the course for credit, two exercises of 750 words, and two assignments of 1,500 words need to be completed per module. If you are new to writing assignments and reflections, there will be help and support available.

We want to set up a group / do the foundation year. Again, please contact Manon. We look forward to hearing from you! www.exploringfaith.co.uk

Exploring Faith in the diocese of St Asaph

Exploring Faith .....is a programme that helps us think more deeply about different aspects of our faith.

the Bible, what the Church teaches, and how we apply that in our communities and our churches today.

However, it is more than a course, it is also a process.

Who is it for?

At its core are these values: 

We are all called to learn, serve and grow, in other words, to discipleship. God calls us to a variety of formal and informal ministries, in every area of life. Ministry is something we do together.

We offer a foundation year that can be used as a resource for local congregations to consider their ministry and mission, and as an introduction to studying theology. These modules are designed to help the church discern the ministries and resources it needs for the future. The materials consist of group workbooks for local use with about 6-8 sessions each. We also offer a 1-4 year course, studying three modules each year in local education groups; looking at

It is for anyone who wants to learn more about God, and think more deeply about their contribution to his work in the world and in the Church. It can also be used as part of a training course for a variety of informal and formal ministries. Do I need any qualifications to do the course? No, not at all. Anyone can do the course, and join in with the group discussions. What do the modules involve? Each term starts with a Saturday Seminar in Wrexham for half a day, when we are introduced to a module. Then participants meet in local education groups to look at a set text book and a module guide, for about 8 sessions each term (for three terms). These meetings can be arranged to suit the availability of the group and facilitator.

Who teaches the course? The local groups are led by facilitators who have skills in helping adults learn, but not necessarily detailed knowledge of the subjects you will be studying. The Saturday Seminars are taught by tutors who have some expertise in their field as well as a passion for communicating their subject. There is also a team of tutors who support students pastorally and academically. Which subjects will we study? Level 4 (years 1 and 2) Year A An Introduction to Anglican Liturgy Introducing the New Testament Church and Kingdom Year B Doing Theology Introducing the Old Testament Mission and Service. Level 5 (years 3 and 4) Year A Jonah, a Prophet for Today God as Trinity Pastoral Practice
