Today is an exciting time to be a part of

Moorhead Hockey! Through the hard work and dedication of many, Moorhead Hockey has become a leader in the State of Hockey. For the past fifty years a countless number of individuals have contributed to the program on and off the ice. The framework of a celebration has started to take shape, and we are looking for volunteers to step forward and help

Can’t Find Something? As we near the end of the year, missing items are building up in the Lost and Found. Please check for items that may be yours, as we will be once again cleaning and donating in the near future!

Reminder to NOT leave hockey bags, sticks, etc. at the MYHA Arena overnight. The Arena and Office Staff are NOT responsible for items that are left unattended, lost, stolen or missing. This procedure will help maintain the cleanliness of the Arena, the Locker Rooms as well as allow the Arena Staff to properly clean. Thank you! GOALIE EQUIPMENT If your son or daughter is currently using MYHA-issued goalie equipment we ask you to send an e-mail to the office ([email protected]) with a description of the equipment. Brian Stavenger, Equipment Coordinator, is doing an inventory update and would appreciate the information. If you were previously issued goalie equipment and are no longer using it, please return it to the equipment room as there are others within the association who are in need of equipment. Also, if you need to get new equipment contact Brian to coordinate a time to do so. Thank You! Grizzlies Newz: Thank you for all the donations of equipment so far and for all the volunteers that come out every Sunday to help!! We are still in need of gloves and elbow pads if anyone has any to donate. Also, anyone that would like to volunteer to help with the team can contact Jackie Beedy at 218-329-1808 or [email protected]. If any MYHA team would like to scrimmage us on a Sunday, please contact Jackie.

A Code for Hockey, and Life…... The hockey season is flying by, and years end tournaments will be here before you know it. As we approach this point in the season, and the games often have more on the line, it’s important to make sure we maintain the highest level of sportsmanship from the stands as we support our youth teams. Just as our players sign a Player Code of Conduct at the beginning of each season, our rules and regulations also include a Parent’s Code of Ethics. Here’s an excerpt from that section: A. I AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING: 1. Remember that youth are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, not mine. 2. Encourage players to abide by the rules of the game. 3. Communicate to children that an honest effort is more important than winning. 4. Turn defeat into victory by helping my child work towards skill development and good sportsmanship. 5. Remember that all players’ experiences and development are important. 6. Always conduct myself in a positive manner by respecting other parents, players, coaches, and officials. 7. Recognize that the coaches, not parents, are the primary source of instruction and authority in the game. 8. Recognize the value, authority, and importance of our coaches and team interest. 9. Adhere to the rules and enforce “the Player’s Code of Ethics” of the association for their child. With the intent of assisting our players to become better citizens and aid in providing our youth with a set of safe and enjoyable experiences; each parent will recognize and participate in correcting of their child’s behavior and following through on agreements. B. I AGREE NOT TO: 1. Force an unwilling child to participate in MYHA. 2. Publicly criticize or ridicule a coach, player, or official. 3. Condone physical or verbal abuse of players. Let’s all do our best to create a positive, supportive environment for our players, and represent Moorhead Youth Hockey in the best possible manner. Enjoy the rest of the season!
