FACILITY RENTALS
In addition to exhibitions and programming, the Vernon Public Art Gallery offers gallery space to the public for facility rentals. The facility is available to a variety of user groups; not-for-profit organizations, private businesses and community groups. The Gallery is a great meeting place providing a unique atmosphere for company meetings, fundraisers or gala events. VPAG is located conveniently in the heart of downtown Vernon with easy accessibility and parking.
RECOGNITION OF SUPPORT By renting the gallery, you are helping to support operations at the Vernon Public Art Gallery. The Vernon Public Art Gallery is a not-for-profit arts organization committed to fostering the appreciation of the visual arts for all members of the community. The Gallery exhibits, collects and preserves regional, national and international art in all media in order to educate, inspire and encourage participation in the visual arts. Donations in support of the Gallery’s exhibitions and programming are always gratefully accepted.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY
The gallery is open to the public M-F from 10am-5pm, and Saturdays from 11am-4pm. Arrangements may be made for rentals both during and outside of these times. Availability is dependent on the exhibition and public programming schedule. The rental period includes preparation, event time and cleanup. Set up can be done within regular gallery hours at no extra cost; extra time outside of regular gallery hours must be included in the rental period.

INSURANCE
Confirmation of minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance is required from the renting party and must be presented prior to the event, with VPAG listed as additional insured. If alcohol is being provided at the event, the renting party assumes all responsibility & liability for the serving of alcohol and adheres to the regulations and laws set by the Province of BC. (It is recommended that the renting party inquire with their insurance provider to see if any additional insurance is required).
SPECIAL OCCASION LICENSE
A special occasion permit must be obtained if alcohol is being served. The license must be presented to VPAG prior to the event. The permit must be displayed during the event and a server with the appropriate designation must be present for the entire duration. For more information visit solo.bcldb.com
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Organization of food and beverages services is the responsibility of the renter. FoodSafe BC regulations apply to all food and beverage services arranged by the renter. Refreshments are permitted with rental of the Caroline Galbraith Gallery and Community Gallery spaces, and are allowed on a limited basis in the Topham Brown Gallery depending on the nature of the exhibition.
For professionally catered events, renters are required to use one of the Gallery’s preferred caterers (see back page).
STANDARD POLICIES & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The renting party is responsible for the actions of the guests, caterers, florist, bar service, etc. and basic cleanup. The gallery is not responsible for loss or damage of any property belonging to the renting party or guests. Absolutely NO SMOKING, burning candles or any flame allowed on the premises. Due to the nature of art exhibitions, no decorations or signage may be taped to walls or furniture, and no artwork may be moved or removed by the renting party. Rental spaces are to be left in the same condition in which they were found. Arrangement for deliveries of food and equipment must be made in advance of the event and must not interfere with regular gallery operations. Rental equipment may be left for pick-up the following day in a designated location. Limited kitchen facilities are available. The renting party is responsible for providing their own float if required. Garbage must be bagged and sealed and left at the back door of the kitchen. Note: Parking is not available in the Parkade past 8:00 pm unless other arrangements are made with the City of Vernon. Street parking is always available.

All three gallery spaces are available for $300 for up to 3 hours. $50 per additional hour. Non-profit groups receive special rates upon request (within regular gallery hours.

Please provide the VPAG with the following information one week prior to your event: Special Occasion Licence complete (if required) and copy provided to VPAG Insurance policy updated to include the VPAG Facility Rental Form and payment complete and sent to VPAG
