Wool Applique basic instructions… Design is available in 2 forms, one is reversed for fusible applique and the other is available for needle turn or any non fusible method. Designs that share the same color of wool; trace designs, nesting close together and maximizing wool for little waste. Hint: cut out fusible webbing to the same size as wool provided and trace everything within those parameters. If a shape lies underneath another you will need to extend the underlying design to allow for overlapping. Cut background larger than what is required and square up to required size after all applique is completed. Trace designs onto paper side of fusible webbing leaving minimal space between each design. Cut out slightly larger than what is drawn and fuse to appropriate colors of wool. Cut out designs on drawn lines, remove paper and layout design onto background using photo and/or art work as a guide and fuse in place. Hint: use an applique pressing sheet to layout and fuse pieces together before placing onto background. All rights reserved. ‘FALL GATHERINGS’ FPQ1712 Wool Applique (pattern may need to be reversed if using fusible web method) Draw designs on the paper side of fusible webbing leaving a little space between each one. Cut out slightly larger than what is drawn and fuse to appropriate wool colors, cut out on drawn lines. Lay out design on background fabric, fuse in place and blanket stitch using like colors of Rustic Wool Moire Threads. Add French knots for eyes.

Border Assembly After applique is complete and your background is squared up to 8.5”, sew a 2.5” x 8.5” border to both sides and press outwards. Repeat with a 2.5” x 12.5” border to the top and bottom. Layer top with batting and backing and quilt as desired. I quilted around wool designs in the same manner as you would stitch in the ditch. Add sleeve if desired, bind and enjoy!
