Registration Dates: May 13, 2013 - July 12, 2013 Philosophy Founded in 1994, the Baldwinsville Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) is a not-for-profit recreational soccer league for kids ages 4-13 and is open to all residents of the Central New York area. BYSA is affiliated with New York State West Youth Soccer Association, a state member of the US Youth Soccer Association. BYSA’s mission includes teaching the fundamentals, encouraging good sportsmanship, promoting teamwork, improving physical fitness, teaching respect and having FUN. All interested players are welcome to join, regardless of skill level or experience. With the exception of the age limit there are no requirements for joining. Players with disabilities are given special consideration and encouraged to participate. With over 1000 players on over 80 teams BYSA provides a valuable opportunity for kids in the Baldwinsville area. More than 150 parents volunteer their time to continue this tradition.

Practice Practices are held one week day evening at a soccer field at one of the area parks or schools. Practices are 1 hour and start at 6:00pm. The coach contacts the players on their team to let them know what day, time, and location practice will be held.

Board meetings are held once a month to review procedures, problems, and future objectives. See the web site for a current list of available Board Member positions.  Coaches/Assistant Coaches Coaches and Assistants commit to 8 weeks of practice and 6 games in the fall and the same again in the spring. There are no requirements for being a coach or assistant except a willingness to help. A Coaching Clinic is held each fall to provide training on practice drills and game strategies.  Concession Stand Helpers Each Saturday at McNamara, a concession stand is set up. Parent volunteers are needed to man the stand each week. Volunteering for just a couple of hours on one Saturday is a big help. Referees Anyone 13 years or older is eligible to be a referee. This includes former players, parents, grandparents and college students. Inexperienced referees start out with the U6 division. Training and certification is required for the U10 and U12/U14 divisions. BYSA provides the training and referees are paid per game. Referee Clinics are held every year prior to each the Fall and Spring sessions. Referees will be contacted by the Referee Director and a schedule will be distributed prior to each game day.
