PRAYER (Experiencing Awe & Intimacy with God) “We must know the awe of praising his glory, the intimacy of finding his grace, and the struggle of asking his help, all of which can lead us to know the spiritual reality of his presence. Prayer, then, is both awe and intimacy, struggle and reality. These will not happen every time we pray, but each should be a major component of our prayer over the course of our lives.” –Timothy Keller (This series is based on His book by the same title) New Series:

Part Four “Going” 2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless (fully devoted) toward Him. DBCC is built with this underlying conviction: Whatever the capacity for human sin and suffering the church has a greater capacity through the Gospel for healing and wholeness. (Rom1:16) CAMPAIGN PURPOSE:
To inspire db family to be more fully devoted to Christ in taking steps of faith in our five G discipleship process.
Together raising money for the purpose of development & enhancement of our church home to its fullest capacity to better reach seekers and build believers to full devotion to Jesus Christ. Fullness of life and full devotion to Christ are one in the same pursuit. Jn10:10 A GENUINE Christian is committed to Christ and a Church family. A GROWING Christian is committed to the disciplines necessary for spiritual growth. A GIVING Christian is committed to using their time, talents & treasure to serve their church family. A GOING Christian is committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with people throughout the world. (Matt28:18-20)
John 4:27-42 The MISSION to Share your Faith: Sharing my faith is spiritual ____________. vv32, 34 (Job23:12; Matt4:4) Sharing my faith involves spiritual _________ and _________. Vv35-38 (1Cor3:6-7)
Sowing is ___________ people to Jesus Christ. Reaping is seeing people ___________ in Jesus Christ. Sharing my faith is not an event but a ___________ of ____________. vv35-36 (Phil4:4; 1Pet3:15)
The METHOD to Share your Faith: Two parts to sharing my faith: Show & Tell v39 (Matt5:13-16) _______ them your heart. v39 “He told me all that I ever did.” ______ them about Jesus. v39 “He told me all that I ever did.” (Jn14:6)
Christians believe it’s not their own goodness (DO) but ___________ ____________ (DONE) that gets them to heaven. (Eph2:8-9)
The MOTIVE to Share your Faith: All truth claims are exclusive. The Gospel is the most ____________ exclusive truth claim in the world. Tolerance isn't about not having truth claims. It's about how your truth claims lead you to _______________ who disagree with you. V27 There are three motivations for sharing your faith: ________ – I’m a bad Christian if I don’t. ________ – I’m right and you’re wrong. ________ – I want you to have what I have. (1Jn4:19; Matt22:37-39) It’s Jesus’ love for us that ____________ a love for others. He sees us at our _________ & gives to us His very __________. V29 (Jn4:14; Rom5:8)
Growing Notes 1) Paraphrase the key verse (2Chro16:9) of the DYTM2.5 teaching series? What does it mean that fullness of life and full devotion to Christ are one in the same pursuit? What is a Going Christian and how is it related to the 1st three G’s (Genuine, Growing & Giving)? 2) Read John 4:27-42. How is the MISSION of sharing your faith spiritual sustenance (vv32, 34; Job 23:12; Matt4:4)? What is spiritual sowing and reaping (Vv35-38; 1Cor3:6-7)? What does it mean that sharing my faith is not an event but a lifestyle of rejoicing (vv35-36; Phil4:4; 1Pet3:15)? 3) What are the two parts to the METHOD of sharing your faith (v39)? Sharing your faith simply means not hiding how Christ helps you deal with problems, making decisions, and establishing your priorities. Explain. How would you respond to someone who says, “I’m glad that you’re a Christian, but I believe that all good people can go to heaven?” 4) Why were the Disciples surprised (v27 Note: This was a Patriarchal, racist & moralistic society)? Tolerance isn't about not having truth claims. It's about how your truth claims lead you to treat people who disagree with you. Explain. What should motivate Christians to share their faith? How does Jesus see us at our worst & give to us His very best (V29; Jn4:14; Rom5:8)? Pray db is more effective in Going!
