1.1 General information
Procon offers a fiber laser cutting machine that is compact and is a technologically advanced product. The machine, complete with loading and unloading system, does not exceed the overall dimensions of 10.6 x 6.3 meters for the FL3015LU model and 12.6 x 6.30 meters for the FL4015LU model. The fiber laser is a Rofin diode YB-fiber pumped laser (wavelength 1070 nm), which allows to obtain a high quality beam. It offers important advantages in comparison to the CO2 laser such as: energy saving minimum maintenance cost possibility of working more types of materials undoubted superior reliability of the product Elimination of various costs (i.e. the significant consumption laser gas for the CO2 laser) makes the machine a valuable investment. We offer fiber sources with power from 1 to 6 kW with very low electrical power consumption. A light Carbon composite construction for accelerations up to 5g and a fiber laser head that supports power up to 6 kW. Among the advantages: Proven reliability with more than 450 fiber laser cutting heads manufactured by Procon, operating at present worldwide • Innovation: a mechanism made with lightweight Carbon composites for fast and precise movements of the laser head (up to 5g acceleration) • Higher cutting speeds (especially on thicknesses under 6 mm), lower operating costs; • Higher returns to investment as the fiber laser cutting achieves a lower cost per piece; • The machine allows cutting more reflective materials; • The fiber laser cutting machine has an energy efficiency three times greater than the CO2 laser; • The proposed fiber laser cutting machine with loading and unloading capabilities runs automatically, the continuous presence of the operator is not required. •

The fast cutting system is made of Carbon composites, to obtain a light and rigid construction (x axis 1500 mm Y axis 150 mm); Smooth and effortless movement without snatching; Acceleration up to 5g; Y-axis (table) 3000 x 1500 mm or 4000 x 1500 mm; Standard with Fibracut 60/N cutting head, power up to 6 Kw. with 90° collimator; CNC Procon; The table is moving in X direction and this movement has a triple function for loading cutting and unloading a fast rack and pinion mechanism assures optimal operation.

1.3 The loading system
In the picture: the loading pallet advanced to receive raw sheets The function of the loading system is to load individual metal sheets onto the table of the machine by picking them from a stack of sheets from the loading pallet. The automatic loading cart has no need of guides out of the machine structure. This allows the passage also with forklifts close to the machine. The gripper element is a vertically moving frame equipped with several suction cups, a sheet separator unit, double sheet detector and separation air blow. The machine has also sheet separator magnets for ferromagnetic materials. The sheet separator raises the metal sheet on the short side to separate it from the pack. The lifting frame is features several suction cup units that consist of a cylinder and a suction cup. Depending on the sheet size and format, only the suction cups that come in contact with the metal sheet are lowered by their cylinder. The unused suction cups remain in the upper position. Once the top sheet is detached from the stack, the gripping element raises the metal sheet.

When the metal sheet is deposited on the table of the laser cutting machine, the suction cups are not in contact with the metal sheet and never touch the working table, and thus cannot be damaged. Handled materials are metal sheets, magnetic and non-magnetic, bare or protected by plastic film. Choice of the metal sheet size :

1.4 The unloading system
The dimensions and shapes of the pieces that have to be unloaded can be the most different, for this it is necessary to clarify the following: • •
The system always unloads the cut pieces and the scrap together; Particular attentions needs to be made for the smaller pieces, which if not cut with micro junctions might get stuck between the arms of the unloading system.
The unloading system has a detection device which prevents the discharge when there is an obstacle on its path. The system tries 3 times to discharge before giving an alarm. The forks of the unloading comb feature another Procon patented solution consisting in a belt system that prevents scratching the surface of the processed parts during unloading. It is possible to insert a separation system, for the collection and pelletizing of the cut pieces.

1.5 The fiber cutting head
The cutting head is composed of 3 main parts : a) Collimator unit b) Cutting head body c) Sensor Body Collimator unit. - Collimator lens with focal distance of 100 mm. - 90-degree collimator; - QBH connector, mechanical adjustment for exact fiber coupling; - water cooled lens unit; - Max. power 6 Kw.
Cutting head body o Focal lens distance : 200 mm o Integrated liquid cooling for both head, body and focal lens body; Easy extractable lens o No cooling by gases introduced inside the head, holder thus avoiding any possible contamination of the optical elements; o Constant temperature of the optical elements, eliminating any focal shift due to temperature fluctuation and guaranteed cutting quality; o Integrated monitoring of optical path contamination; - Automatic focal (F) adjustment. o Easy extractable lens holder;

The pressure of the gas is automatically controlled, considering the type of material and thickness to be cut;
Specialist software is available for automated programming of the machine, with functions to draw and import items, realize nesting, define the cutting sequence, generate CNC program, calculate time and costs….
1.7 Special Power unit The machine has a special power unit, an independent body that keeps the source and cooling units together and is prewired and fully connected for a fast and secure installation.
1.7.1 Rofin source FL 030 C 3,0 Kw.
Standard configuration for this machine is offered with a Rofin FL030C source. It is a diode pumped YB-fiber laser, with nominal power of 3000 –W. The laser is equipped with a direct fiber of 50/100 µm. Optionally the machine can be equipped with: o FL020C of 2000W o FL040C of 4000W o FL060C of 6000W.

The source is provided with a ‘Climate control unit’. This air conditioning/drying system is installed in the electric box and consents the functioning of the laser up to 35 ° C with relative humidity at 100%. The 50/100 µm fiber is inserted on the Procon fiber laser head that supports power up to 6 Kw.

Various solutions for dust collectors are available: -
ECO 4 HC/S for indoor installation with air emission in the work environment, filtration efficiency 99.999%; ECO 4 reinforced. Only for outdoor installation. Main application is the cutting of Aluminium metal sheets; Dispenser of calcium carbonate; Flexible dust screw conveyor ‘Fast Clean’ (3 m), for automatic extraction of dust from the dust collector to a dedicated container for its disposal.
1.8.2 Safety protection system A CE compliant safety protection cabin and safety devices around the machine are included.
