Financial and Procurement Assistant 11 month contract/PT File #14-06 The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC)administers and enforces securities law in the province of Ontario. Its mandate is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper and fraudulent practices, and foster fair and efficient capital markets and confidence in capital markets. This mandate is performed through policy, operational, adjudication and enforcement work. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development. The Corporate Services Branch supports the effective operation of the OSC through a diverse set of systems and services, including financial management (including planning, reporting and treasury), administration and office services, facilities management, information technology, library and knowledge management, procurement, and records and information management. The Information Services Group is a part of the Corporate Services Branch and supports the full spectrum of OSC employees' information needs, ensuring that the organization can effectively regulate Ontario's capital market. Specifically, Information Services is responsible for system development and support, training, records and information management, and research and library services. Branch staff partner with managers and directors to develop solutions that both streamline operations and consolidate efforts to best effect across all points of information management and information technology. The Financial and Procurement Assistantperforms administrative duties for the Information Systems department, such as supporting the procurement/payment function, including responding to vendor inquiries, assisting with asset management, preparing reports and department expenses, and assisting staff with administrative processes (e.g. training & travel), as well as assisting other team members as required. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, with the ability to track and prioritize multiple activities. They have excellent written and verbal communication, organization and time management abilities, as well as strong computer, Internet research, and problem solving skills. They utilize their strong interpersonal skills in all facets of their work and have a demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of staff, as

well as with vendors. We are seeking a highly motivated team player who is flexible and displays a strong sense of urgency to complete priorities. The successful candidate will have 5 or more years relevant experience to allow them to conduct their work with minimal oversight and direction, as well as a minimum of a one-year college diploma in a related program (business administration, etc.), and experience working in Accounting, Purchasing or IT in a public sector environment This role is a part-time contract position, consisting of 21-28 hours per week as required and ending March 31, 2015.
