Finn Church Aid FCA

FCA is the largest Finnish humanitarian organization working in response of disasters and crisis for more than 30 years. FCA has worked in different countries worldwide to ensure suitable and honorable relief to people who have encountered crisis. FCA started working in Palestine /Gaza strip in 2014/2015 mainly in providing unconditional cash assistance to families who have lost their homes due to the conflict especially female-headed families, in addition to the psychosocial support to the affected children and their caregivers. In Jordan, FCA has been working with Syrian refugees in Jordan since 2012 with the aim to improve the resilience and wellbeing of refugee children and youth through informal education, recreational activities and improvement of physical education infrastructure. Strategically the response of FCA’s projects falls under FCA’s theme Right to Education with a strong emphasis on Education in Emergencies, in collaboration with the psychosocial support to the Syrian refugees and the vulnerable Jordanian youth as well. In the past three years, FCA has managed to offer recreational activities to more than 1000 beneficiaries to enhance their psycho-social well-being. The recreational activities included the football activities , where football trainers were hired and trained, a safe, reliable and well-equipped football patch was provided in Zaatari camp and in KAP camp as well. In addition to the circus activities where FCA has excelled in. FCA has cooperated with other international organizations in order to strengthen the capacity of the Syrian volunteers to run the circus activity in Za’atari, which has been as conceptualized as Training of Trainers with the aim of refugees gradually taking over the entire circus school. Recently hundreds of beneficiaries in the Zaatari camp are benefitting from the activities implemented in the circus by the Syrian trainers. Several sessions a day are taking place, both male and female. Recently, FCA is continuing to provide education, technical and recreational activities to the beneficiaries according to needs assessments which are done frequently.
