Role of First Responders 1. Immediate care of the injured or ill athlete 2. Activation of EMS a. Designate an individual to call 911 b. Caller will provide pertinent information: name, location, telephone number, number of injured individuals, condition of the injured, first aid rendered, specific directions, other information as requested c. Notify campus police at (706) 542-2200 3. Emergency equipment retrieval 4. Direction of EMS to scene a. Left Field Gate: designate an individual to open the left field gate using the EM2 key and wait for EMS at position 1 b. Pinecrest Drive Gate: Electronic gate that will slide open. Designate an individual to open the Pinecrest Drive gate from the inside and wait for EMS at position 2 c. Direct EMS personnel to the field 5. Scene control Venue Directions Foley Field is located at the corner of Pinecrest Drive (1st base side) and East Rutherford Street (3rd base side). EMS entrance is located at the Left Field Gate (position 1) or Pinecrest Drive Gate (position 2). EMS event parking is located in the S14 parking lot near the left field gate. The EM2 key opens only the left field gate (position 1). Note: East Rutherford Street is closed due to construction and Foley Field cannot be accessed from this street Emergency Personnel Certified athletic trainer and athletic training student(s) on site for practice and competition. Additional sports medicine staff may be accessible from the Butts-Mehre athletic training facility located across the street from Foley Field.
