Monroe County Township Trustees Township Trustees, through the Township Assistance program (formerly known as Poor Relief), provide assistance to those in need of basic necessities. They can help direct you toward free food and clothing, as well as assist with utility bills, shelter, and some medical expenses. Call them for help.

Federal Food Stamps Your family may be eligible to receive food stamps to help cover your monthly grocery costs. Only 60% of those who are eligible take advantage of this program. Hoosier Hills Food Bank
collects, stores, and distributes nutritious foods to over 90 non-profit organizations that provide free feeding programs to ill and needy families and individuals in Central Indiana in Brown, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Owen, and Orange Counties.
