BAD WEATHER!!!!!!! The winter season is upon us and the decision to open or close school is based on road conditions, temperature, snow and ice accumulation, and building conditions. There are several ways to check for school closings. Channel 7 and the local radio stations, the LPS Facebook page and the LPS web site at http://www.lawtonps.org/ will keep you up to date on the school closings. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and has the necessary outer garments such as coats, hats, and gloves. Our building is hard to heat especially in the hallways and auditorium and we will go outside as long as the temperature is not below 32 degrees including the wind chill.
Communicable Disease Reminders It’s that time of year when illnesses become more prevalent. Please remember to keep your child home if the following conditions occur: · Child is running a fever greater than 100 degrees · Vomiting/Diarrhea · Excessive coughing or drainage from nose · Rash or outbreak on skin, excessive itching · Redness/drainage to the eye or eyelid Hand washing is greatly encouraged to prevent contagious illnesses such as, cold, flu, diarrhea/vomiting, strep infections, staph infections and parasites (skin, intestinal tract). Please encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds especially after using the restroom. Please remember that your child must be free of symptoms for a 24 hour period without the use of medications (Tylenol, Motrin, Imodium, etc.)

PTA News……… YEAR BOOK REMINDER The cost for the yearbook is $25.00 for a hard cover and $20.00 for a soft cover. You may send cash or checks payable to Freedom PTA.
