NO SCHOOL FRIDAY There will not be any school on Friday, October 14. This is a professional training day for teachers. School will resume Monday, Oct. 17. There will not be any school during October 20 through October 24 for Fall Break. School will resume Tuesday, October 25.

Parent/Teacher Conferences Conferences have been scheduled for October 17 & October 18th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. If you have not heard from your child’s teacher or had a chance to schedule a conference, please call your child’s teacher as soon as possible. During the conference you will receive important information about your child’s progress. The following are suggestions for getting the most out of the parent/teacher conference: · Be on time for your child’s conference and be prepared. · Discuss specific strengths and weaknesses. · Listen to your child’s teacher with an open mind. · Find out what you can do at home to enhance your child’s education. · Be prepared to share the information with your child. If you have any questions or concerns about Parent/Teacher Conferences, please call the school office at 580-713-0060.

“Coins for Cancer” Reminder! We will still be collecting “Coins for Cancer” through October 18.

Counselor’s Corner…….. Order form packets for the Spirit and Pride T-shirts will be sent home on Friday, October 28. All orders are due back to school by Friday, November 4. Any orders after November 10 cannot be guaranteed for delivery prior to us leaving for Winter Break. After the deadline, there will be no more opportunity to order the shirts.

BOOK FAIR NEWS Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The book fair was a HUGE success thanks to all of the parents, students, staff and faculty who bought books. The library purchased over $2,000 in books from the book fair for our students to check out from the library.

Red Ribbon Week Activities October 25 – “Be A Genius Day” – wear jeans October 26 – wear Red Day October 27 – “Drugs Can’t Find Us Day” – wear camouflage October 28 – “Team Up Against Drugs" – wear your favorite team shirt (Freedom Spirit shirt included) If your child is participating in the activities, no uniform is required.

Dismissal/Early Pickup Procedures Please be courteous and notify the school office by 2:30 pm when you need to pick your children up early from school. Once dismissal procedures begin, it is extremely hard to honor your request to change your child’s mode of transportation. When dismissing 1240 students at the end of the day going to 7 different areas, it is extremely difficult to locate a child while in transition to their dismissal location. Picture Day is Coming!!

We would like to congratulate Erin Reed for her 2nd place finish in the 2nd Grade Girls Softball throw on September 24.

Individual pictures will be taken on October 19th. Students may dress in school appropriate clothes for picture day. Uniforms will not be required that day.
