Parking Not again I hear you say! However, I probably think this past week has been one of the most congested weeks regarding parking around school. There has been a prang between two cars, some very angry residents (who unfortunately school staff had to deal with) and some hazardous parking on bends, yellow lines and in front of the school playground gates. When parking please take a second to think whether it is an appropriate place, also would it hinder the emergency services getting past in times of need. On a more positive note can I say a huge thank you to the many parents who are very supportive of our drive to keep the area around school safe and car free. Conversations I’ve had with many of you this week highlight how shocked and frustrated you also are by some of the inconsiderate parking that takes place. Hopefully we can work together to manage the issues.
Dear Parents and Carers, It is hard to believe that we are already at Half Term, and half way through the school year! The Spring Term has had a very positive start and over this half term, the children have worked hard and have many achievements to celebrate. May I take this opportunity to wish you all an enjoyable half term break and I look forward to seeing all our children return refreshed and ready for the run up to Easter on Monday 22nd February 2016 at 8:55am. Kind regards Mrs Sharon Edwards Headteacher
Advanced Notice-World Book Day 2016 This year World Book Day is being celebrated on Thursday 3rd March 2016. Reading is something that we really value at Greenleas and we understand the importance of children getting enjoyment from their reading. World Book Day is an excellent way to promote this further. On the day we would like the children (and staff!) to come in dressed up as a character from a poem. We aim to get the children thinking about poems they have read and enjoyed.
Thank you! The caring Greenleas spirit shone through this week when our lovely lollipop lady Mrs Osbourne became unwell, thanks to the parents who looked after her and helped our children safely cross the road.
Friends of Greenleas- Zumba. The Zumba class that was scheduled for last night had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. The decision to cancel an event is always a difficult one and more often than not leads to some disappointment. Thank you for your support if you purchased a ticket, and sorry if cancelling caused some disappointment and inconvenience. We don’t like letting people down.
