Friends of TEAM Academy retained Jonathan Rose Companies to be their real estate advisor and owner’s representative to embark on an expansion of their school program. Located in Newark, Friends of TEAM Academy currently operates two successful charter schools and intends to enlarge its facilities by adding a new high school, elementary school and middle school within the next three years. The current plan is to house the High School and Elementary school together in a renovated 175,000 sf space which will serve both school communities. For all three schools, Jonathan Rose Companies was engaged to assist with site control, as well as supporting the due diligence and pre-construction efforts. Jonathan Rose Companies is also worked with Friends of TEAM Academy in exploring options to create the highest level of sustainable design within budget constraints. Embarking on a program of expansion, TEAM will develop a system of design and construction guidelines that will inform future growth. TEAM Academy is a KIPP school that is part of a national network of schools with a mission to prepare students in under-served communities for college. TEAM has been committed to improving education in the Newark area since 2002.
