A Time of Preparation Welcome Prelude For the Beauty of the Earth by Kocher, arr. Rice *Call to Worship One: The Lord is our refuge. All: We can find peace in God’s abiding love. One: When troubles assail us, we call upon the Lord. All: When joys abound, we call upon the Lord. One: Welcome this day to God’s house, one of many dwellings of the Almighty One. All: We thank you and praise God for his refuge and sanctuary. Amen.
4 You know the way to the place I’m going.” 5 Thomas asked, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you have really known me, you will also know the Father. From now on you know him and have seen him.” 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father;; that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus replied, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been with you all this time? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I have spoken to you I don’t speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Trust me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or at least believe on account of the works themselves. 12 I assure you that whoever believes in me will do the works that I do. They will do even greater works than these because I am going to the Father. 13 I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father can be glorified in the Son. 14 When you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it. One: This is the Word of God for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God. Fall Bible Study - Thursday evenings, 7PM at FUMC
Fall Bible Study - a Wednesday afternoon Bible Study is being held at the home of Dot Workman each week at 1PM. The study, Is This the End? – comparing prophecy of the Old Testament to the current events happening in our world today – is open to everyone who wishes to attend. (Please contact Dot if you need directions.) Dear FUMC & Prayer Quilt Ministry – I received your beautiful prayer quilt yesterday and I felt the peacefulness from your prayers as I held it. I’ve been very familiar with your ministry since I have given many of your quilts to residents at FNRC. I have always marveled how beautiful and well done each quilt is. It is a wonderful, meaningful, and worthwhile ministry – so keep up the effort. Even though you may not always get a thank you, your impact to so many people is felt and echoed throughout the community. I said a prayer of thanks as soon as I got the quilt and will keep it close as I walk the cancer road. It will help me to focus on all the blessings I have in my life.
Thank you again for your caring and continuing this wonderful ministry. Never thought I would be one of the recipients; but life is like that, isn’t it? Love, Suzanne Carley
