G00 A LOOK BACK! The G00 team began with the club at U8, and from day one they set the tone for things to come. Success followed the team throughout their years with the club. In consecutive years the girls won 4 league brackets in a row, Bronze(09), Silver(10), Silver(11) and Gold(12). Three out of the four years saw them finish with unbeaten league records! They also claimed back to back CSL League Cups in 2011 and 2012. The girls fell just short of the State Cup title in 2010 also. Most notably was perhaps that the girls have appeared in all 4 years they were eligible for the invite only SURF Cup Tournament which prides itself on putting together the ‘Best of the Best’ from across the country. Across the four years the girls have excelled in the tournament and have a combined record of W10, T3, L4 culminating in their run to the final in 2013. The girls have always represented the club(FC Blades & Irvine Slammers FC) and its members to the best of their abilities, this earned them major accolades, and admirers across the youth soccer map, with their wonderful fluid style of play, team unity and some crazy cow bells!! Got Soccer even had them ranked as the #1 team in so cal in 2013 and as high as #5 in the nation. Across the years many as many as 9 players were chosen for the Cal South Young Olympian Pools and/or the Olympic Development Pools with one player even captaining the Cal South 2000 ODP team to tournament glory in Arizona. They have also been recognized by the US Club Soccer id2 program and have several members in the US National Training Ctrs’. Heading in to U14, 5 of the girls have progressed through our partnership with Slammers FC on to their ECNL(Elite Club National League) Squad. The rest of the squad have welcomed 12 new members from all over the club soccer map, and will progress with Head Coach(since U8) Andy Winn, and Asst Rachel Housepian, and represent Slammers FC as their EGSL(Elite Girls Soccer League) team in the 2014/15 season.
