Steps 1. Measure an object with whole length units (no gaps or overlaps). 2. Count how many whole length units long the object is.
The bandage is about 3 paperclips long. The bandage is about 2 crayons long.
The crayons and paperclips are examples of whole length units because they are smaller than the bandage and are used to measure the length of the bandage.
