Geese in the Wind 12-1/2”x12-1/2” Things to Know *Before you Begin* All Quantities and cuts are based on 44/45”-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. All measurements include a 1/4” seam allowance, unless stated differently in the directions. WOF stands for Width of Fabric. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated. Read through the instructions before beginning your project. All directions have been tested and are presented in good faith, but no warranty can be given nor results guaranteed. We truly hope you have fun with your project!

Cutting Directions  

From Background fabric cut:  - (6) 3-7/8”x3-7/8” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to Make (12) Half Square Triangles. (A) From Blue fabric cut:  - (1) 7-1/4”x7-1/4” Square. Cut in half diagonally both direc tions to make (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (B)

From Purple fabric cut: - (1) 7-1/4”x7-1/4” Square. Cut in half diagonally both direc tions to make (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (C) From Green fabric cut: - (2) 3-7/8”x3-7/8” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to Make (4) Half Square Triangles. (D)

Flying Geese Unit A 

Layout (2) A background units and (1) B Quarter Square Triangle like Shown



Sew (1) A triangle to the left side of the B triangle. Press towards A



Sew (1) A triangle to the right side of the B triangle. Press towards A



Repeat previous three steps to make a total of (4) Flying Geese A Units

Sew (1) D triangle to the left side of the C triangle. Press towards D



Sew (1) A triangle to the right side of the C triangle. Press towards A



Repeat previous three steps to make a total of (4) Flying Geese B Units

Assembling the Block 

Layout (4) Flying Geese A units, and (4) Flying Geese B units



Sew (1) Flying Geese A block to (1) Flying Geese B block. Press towards Flying Geese B Make (4) blocks like this.



Sew blocks into rows Press in the direction of the arrows.



Sew Rows together to create (1) Geese in the Wind Block. Press in the direction of the arrow
