Get 2 slices bread. Get toaster. Get two slices of bread (remember--whole wheat with a lot of fiber and low sugar is best) and a toaster.
______2.
Check toaster. Make sure the toaster is plugged into an electrical outlet. Check the setting that regulates the temperature (and the browning) and set it where you like it. A medium setting is usually a good choice.
______3.
Put bread into toaster. Using your hands, put each slice of bread, one at a time, into the toaster. At this point, the bread slices will still be sticking up, outside of the toaster. Never force a slice of bread into the toaster. Never stack slices of bread into the toaster.
______4.
Push down lever on toaster. Using your hand, push down the lever on the toaster so the bread slices are now toasting in the toaster and no longer sticking up.
______5.
Wait until toast pops up. Wait until the bread slices pop back up and are toasted and sticking up, outside of the toaster.
______6.
Careful! Take out toast. Using your hand, take the bread out of the toaster by carefully grabbing on to the top of each slice, one at a time, once the toast has popped up. Pull each piece of toast up and out of the toaster. The toast will be hot, so be careful. The inside of the toaster is also very, very hot.
