Angus Nicoson, known simply as “Nick” to most people on the University of Indianapolis campus, was a member of the Class of ’42. He went on to serve the University from 1947 to ’77 as a highly respected and well-loved teacher, coach, and administrator. Although he coached several sports, his greatest success was in basketball, where he had only three losing seasons in 30 years. Coach of the Indiana high school boy’s All-Star Basketball Team for 17 years, Nick was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, the Helms Foundation of Fame, and the University of Indianapolis Athletic Hall of Fame.
