You have a Google Drive You are familiar with Google Forms You are familiar with Google Sheets You collect student emails You are not afraid of multi-step tasks!!
Starting with your Data
wifi: MSU Sponsored password: orange%cow
So….you have all this data from a Google Form, now what! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Figure out exactly what you want students to know. I use Flubaroo to grade any multiple choice. Do you need to manipulate any of the data? Then I write formulas to get the info I need for the kids. Then I use FormMule.
Flubaroo - My Love

Flubaroo is a pretty useful and spiffy Add-on Let’s grade our data, which is a test my students took and I changed all the names. --Enable Flubaroo --Set-up --Grade Assignment (I put in the Answer Key--you would need to do this.) --Advanced Features: Autograde and Email
Let’s get it to them... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Add FormMule as an add-on in Google Sheets. Create a new tab called “FormMule” Start compiling the information you want to send to kids. Create Email--directly from your spreadsheet column headers Run FormMule Emails out automatically.
That’s Great, but I Want MORE!! What do you want your students to know? 1. 2.
Manipulating Data into a form useful to you and the student is key. You might have a specific form your school requires
3.
Or specific data you need to pull
THIS IS WHERE PEOPLE GET NERVOUS!!!!
A BIG TEST!!!
Don’t be scared of formulas in Sheets. All they are is a method of you telling the spreadsheet and data what to do.
Let’s talk about Formulas 1.
COUNTIF Statements =countif(B2:BL2, “I”)*95
I am telling the spreadsheet to only count a number IF an “I” is on the row B2:BL2. Then I’m multiplying by 95 (I had 95 students). 2.
Then I am telling my spreadsheet to sum all columns on row B101:BL101 having an “MLA” on row B2:BL2. Then I’m dividing by the number I calculated above to get a %. 3.
I have done one Array table, which converted their raw score to a SBL score.
Let’s get it to them...again 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
You added FormMule as an add-on in Google Sheets. Create a new tab called “FormMule” Start compiling the information you want to send to kids. Run Add-On Email out
