Our vision is to see all creation reconciled to God through Christ Jesus.
Gleanings from the Wheat Field St. James Episcopal Church
How, Then, Should We React? On September 11, 2001, early in the morning, I was walking with several of my seminary classmates on our way to chapel, which we attended each morning. Passing by the office of one of the administrative staff, I heard the commotion surrounding a small TV on top of a file cabinet. “It’s something about a plane hitting the Trade Center in New York,”, was the answer that came to a question that was asked. “Really? Was it a private plane?” “No. I think it was a airliner! The building is on fire.”
Some people have reacted with immense joy; dancing in the streets. I think that we want to be careful here. If our joy is for the fact that this person will not be able to exact further hatred and destruction on the human race, then I think that we have a good reason for appropriate joy and true relief. If, however, we feel satisfaction because vengeance has been enacted, then we would be stepping outside of Christ’s model for us.
We must remember that Jesus, Then the second plane hit the when he looked at the evil and sinful second tower and we knew. We knew hearts of humanity, was greatly sadwhat was happening and we knew that dened, not fiercely angered. His desire the place we needed to be was in the was to gather us all up as a mother hen chapel. Chapel that morning was filled gathers her chicks. The truth is that with silence, tears, and anger. What Do Episcopalians Believe? From the Book Of Common Prayer
Human Nature Q. What are we by nature? A. We are part of God’s creation, made in the image of God. Q. What does it mean to be created in the image of God? A. It means that we are free to make choices; to love, to create, to reason, and to live in harmony with creation and with God. Q. Why then do we live apart from God and out of harmony with creation?
A. From the beginning, human beings have misused their freedom and made wrong choices.

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE AND CRAFT FAIR When: June 25th (Saturday) Time: 8AM to 4PM A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit a variety of community organizations.
Q. Why do we not use our freedom as we should? A. Because we rebel against God, and we put ourselves in the place of God. Q. What help is there for us? A. Our help is in God. Q. How did God first help us?
1st ANNUAL COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE AND CRAFT FAIR When: June 25th (Saturday) Time: 8AM to 4PM Do you have a garage full of things that you haven’t used in years? Maybe you have friends and family in the same fix. Why not bring those things over to St. James’ parking lot and help them find a new home? We need ten families who will join us. St. James will be promoting this to our neighbors and serving free hot dogs to those who come by. We only ask that participants would be willing to contribute a minimum 10% of their proceeds to a group of three very important Wheat Ridge area ministries (Lost and Found, Operation Restoration, and Carpenter’s Cupboard).

If you would like to have flowers placed on the altar in memory of a loved one, for birthdays, or an anniversary, please sign up on the flower chart in the Narthex. It would be helpful if you could write the occasion next to your name. Also, if you have a special type of flower you would like to request, please let us know a couple of weeks prior to the date you want the flowers on the altar. Donations may be placed in the offertory the week before you want the flowers on the altar. If paying by check, please mark the Memo Section: Altar Guild
