You picked a kitten. Where’s the mommy cat? Did you find it? Good job!” (Continue until all pictures are matched or until kids tire of playing.) “We matched up all the moms and babies. I’m glad God made animals and I’m glad He made families too. Did you know that God made your family? He did. He put you in just the right family for you. Our story today is about some more things that God made and it’s from God’s special book, the Bible. In the very first book of the Bible, Genesis, it tells us that God created the world. God created the world and everything in it. He created the world just by speaking. Let’s see if we can remember some of the things that God created. On day 1 - God made light and separated it from the dark. He made day and night. What did He make on Day 2? He made sky and water. On Day 3 - He made land and plants. On Day 4 - He made the sun, moon and stars and seasons. Do you know what He made on days 5 and 6? Let’s listen and see. On Day 5 - God created fish, sea animals and and birds. He created big fish and teeny, tiny fish that you can barely see. He created Whales and sea otters and dolphins. Can you think of any other animals or fish? (Give kids a chance to respond.) He created birds that fly through the sky. He created eagles, robins, ducks and geese. He created chickens and turkeys. He created tiny little hummingbirds and great big ostriches. Did you know that God even created a bird that swims instead of flies? It’s a _______. (Penguin.) God did a good job creating fish and birds. Then on day six, God created all kinds of animals to live on the land. He made animals that you might see in a zoo. He made animals to be pets. He made farm animals, desert animals, forest animals and jungle animals. What is your favorite animal? (Bears, bunnies, elephants, deer, giraffes, etc.) I like all those animals too. God thought of a lot of different animals when He made the world. We can enjoy the animals God created and we can help take care of some of them too. I hope you all help take good care of your pets at home. Best of all, on day six, God made people. God made the very first man, Adam. Then God made Eve to be his wife. God did a good job creating everything and He did a good job when He made you. Our verse says, “How you made me is amazing and wonderful.” Did you know that you are amazing and wonderful? You are! You are amazing because God made you amazing. God made a beautiful world for you to live in and care for. Let’s thank God for all the things He made and let’s remember to help take care of God’s world. Who made the world? God made the world. Who made you? God made me. MEMORIZE: Psalm 139:14 - (Hold hands open as though holding a book.) How you made me (Point to self.) Is amazing (Make sweeping upward motion with hands.) And wonderful - (Clap hands.) HOW YOU MADE ME: (To the Tune of “Frere Jacque”) How you made me, How you made me, Is amazing, Is amazing, How you made me, How you made me, Is amazing, And wonderful.
