Golf Scramble Tournament Winter 2017 Registration/Payment Period: January 23rd – February 10th *Note*: All payments must be completed on NSU MarketPlace by February 10th at noon Playing Dates: Saturday, February 18th Entry Fee: $50 per person. This cost includes green fees, taxes, and cart. Intramural Sports Handbook  All participants are required to adhere to the policies of Recreation and Wellness. Time and Location:  Tournament will take place at the Davie Golf & Country Club on February 18th  The first tee time will be at 10:00 AM. Exact scheduling will be determined depending on the number of teams in the tournament. Players:  At least one member of each team must be either an NSU student, or faculty/staff with a current RecWell membership. o Teams are allowed to have one community member, which includes NSU affiliate’s friends or family members.  Since community members do not have access to register on IMLeagues, players must contact Michael Birch, Assistant Director of Intramurals, at [email protected], with information about the community member. Equipment/Attire:  All golfers are required to have their own clubs and bag.  All participants must be properly dressed (no jeans). Tournament Format:  The tournament will be a two-person scramble consisting of 18 holes.  A scramble format requires each member of a team to tee off and then select the best tee shot that the next shot should be played from. Both members of the team will go to that spot and hit that second shot.  This process continues until the ball has been holed by one of the team members.  Teams will be paired with another team, making groups of 4 players teeing off each hole.

Tournament Rules:  Players are allowed to lift, clean, and place their ball as close to the original location of the ball as they can.  While putting, players should mark their ball one putter head away from the putting spot and leave the mark there while the rest of the team putts.  Once the ball has been holed, no other teammate needs to attempt the shot. Play should move to the next hole. Prize:  The winning team will receive two full week passes to The Honda Classic being held February 20th- 26th at the PGA National Resort & Spa – Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Please read the Intramural Handbook. It contains written descriptions of all regulations and policies that govern participation in NSU Intramural Sports, no matter which sport or activity you play. It’s imperative to the continuity of the Intramural program that all participants abide by the regulations detailed in the Handbook by the Office of Recreation and Wellness. Sportsmanship Guidelines Good sportsmanship is required of all participants to preserve fair play, and the safety of others. All players, fans, and spectators are to conduct themselves in a proper manner before, during, and after any and all Intramural events. Any individuals found to be acting in an unsporting manner will not be tolerated, and may be removed from the playing facility.
