Calendar Software can be quite useful in helping us stay organized. Traditional software required us to use the same computer to access our information. Google Calendar allows us to view and make changes to calendars from any computer or smart phone that is connected to the internet because it exist on the Web.
Calendar Window
Google Calendar allows users to create personal or public calendars to share with others. An example of the Google Calendar window is shown below.
Calendar Settings
1. Click on the “Gear Wheel” 2. Click on “Settings” Here is you format your Calendar Settings for Date, Time, Time Zone, Views, etc.
Mobile Text Reminders & Alerts To set up mobile text alerts for Calendar Events. 1. Click on the drop down arrow on your calendar. 2. Click on Calendar Settings.
3. Click on Mobile Setup 4. 5.
Input your Mobile Phone number and click on the “Send Verification Code” button Once received, input the verification code in the box and click “Finish Setup”
Now, when you click on Calendar Setting you will see a “Reminders and Notifications” option.
Now you will see the options to have SMS messages sent to your phone. Just check mark the boxes you wish and click save.
Creating and Sharing a Calendar
1. Click on the drop down arrow in the Calendar Index. 2. Click on “Create new calendar”
3. Name your calendar 4. Individually share with people and set permissions or share with anyone in our organization for viewing.
Adding a Co-‐Worker’s Calendar. Click on the Add link below “Other Calendars”, and click “Add a coworker’s calendar”. Type the coworker’s email address in the popup window and click Add. If it’s a public calendar, it will display under “Other Calendars”. If not, another window will appear and ask you to send a request to the coworker.
