The Gordon Hay Scholarship Fund is a competitive merit based scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to one selected graduating high school senior in the Greater Charlotte Region based upon pursuit of excellence, community engagement, artistic or technical accomplishment, academic achievement, financial need, references and desire to pursue a non-performance career in the performing arts. Applicants are advised to thoroughly review the guidelines for specific criteria relating to the scholarship. The scholarship, to be administered through the Education Department of Blumenthal Performing Arts, is designated for non-tuition expenses which may include technology, books and supplies, cultural experiences that will broaden understanding within the field of study, appropriate educational trips, and internships. The scholarship may be appropriately spent during any calendar year of the recipient’s four-year college career or apportioned over several or all four years. This is a nonrenewable scholarship. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
