Gratitude

Scripture Verse: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)

Devotional Thought: Imagine you spent all of your money on a gift for a friend. They tore open the package, saw the gift, and threw it to the side before playing with something else. How would you feel when you had given everything you had to make them happy, and they did not even say thank you or seem to care? I’m sure that God feels this way when we do not thank Him for everything that He has given us and done for us. He saved the Israelites from slavery, but they complained about the food and heat; they never thanked Him. God even sent His own Son to rescue His people knowing that many would refuse His love. May we always show our gratitude to the One who gives us life. Taking Action: Take a walk with your family around your neighborhood, the park, or even around your yard. As you are walking, write a list or draw 10 things you see that you are glad God made.
