District and campus parental involvement plans will be published in the school handbook in both Spanish and English. These will be distributed to families during district open house, fall parent-teacher conferences and at the Title I annual meeting. In addition, the district and campus Parent and Family Engagement Plans will be posted to the district and school webpage. The federal programs coordinator, Dr. Lisa Carlon (870-438-5201), and curriculum supervisor, Ms. Glenda Ayers, will conduct a meeting to discuss the parent and family engagement program during the spring semester. The agenda/sign in will be on file. Information will be used to determine the 2018-19 parent and family engagement plan needs and improvements. Parental involvement activities will be correlated with the Green Forest ABC Preschool, Carroll County Learning Center for Green Forest, Head Start and other community preschools provide opportunity to visit the school and obtain relevant information for enrollment and school activities for incoming Kindergarten. (Danette Chaney) Elementary – Amanda Farrar Intermediate – Adam Wade High School – Jonie Standlee The parent involvement policy for the district and each parent involvement policy for the schools are reviewed annually in the fall and updated according to the effectiveness of each component. (Lisa Carlon) The Green Forest district maintains a district parent and family engagement committee to evaluate policies, Implement parent and family engagement activities, and disseminate





information to the community to promote parent and family engagement. (Lisa Carlon – 870438-5201) The Green Forest school district provides parental and family engagement plans for all parents according to their individual needs. ELL parents are provided information in their home language as requested and IDEA parents receive their information from the Special Education supervisor, Mrs. Trish Evans, in an easily understood language. Parents are involved in the school review process per participation on each school's ACSIP committees and district parent and family engagement committee.

Goal 2: How will the district provide coordination, technical assistance, and other support necessary to assist participating schools in planning and implementing effective parental engagement?

      

The district Parent and Family Engagement Program Coordinator, Dr. Lisa Carlon (870-4385201) will work with the parent facilitator on each campus to oversee the parent involvement program at each school, ensuring that parent involvement practices are being carried out. Green Forest School District has material available to parents to assist with their children's academic needs. Faculty and staff receive professional development and support regarding parent and family engagement communications and interactions to strengthen parent-school collaboration. The Green Forest School provides translator services to parents for both oral and written communication. Information regarding Adult Literacy Education programs are available upon request. Parent and Family Engagement policies are available on the school website – www.gf.k12.ar.us The parent involvement policy is also published in the student handbook and distributed at open house, parent-teacher conferences, and the annual Title I meeting. The District Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator, Dr. Lisa Carlon, verifies that each school within the district develops a parent involvement policy, offers flexible meeting times, and provides information about the school's program. The School-Parent Compact is distributed in the student handbook each year. The school district uses a school wide phone system which is updated annually and parents are informed of how to use the system. Attendance and achievement information is available to parents through TAC. Mrs. Chandra Anderson (870-438-5129) provides training information and support to parents as requested.

Goal 3: How will the district build the school's capacity for strong parental engagement?

    

Parents rights are identified within the Green Forest School District policies published on the school's website at www.gf.k12.ar.us Each school will hold an annual Title I meeting in the fall to inform parents of current education goals. Each school campus has a parent organization that all parents are invited to participate in. Each organization host a variety of parental and family engagement activities throughout the year. The Green Forest School District sends a survey home to parents annually to help plan for continued school improvement. Surveys are distributed and returned to Dr. Lisa Carlon. Title I funds are budgeted in the ACSIP plan to support parent involvement activities. Reasonable support for parent and family engagement goals and activities is provided to all schools in the district.

Goal 4: How will the district conduct, with the involvement of parents, ongoing evaluation of the content and effectiveness of the parent and family engagement plan as it relates to strategies for increasing parental participation and identifying barriers to greater participation?

   

The Green Forest School District will conduct surveys annually, including questions to identify barriers to parent and family engagement. Parents from all schools in the Green Forest District are invited to assist in the development of the evaluation procedures, including analysis of the data collected. (Lisa Carlon – 870-4385201) Parent survey responses will be analyzed by the parent involvement and necessary revisions made to the Parent and Family Engagement Plan. Parent suggestions from committee meetings will also be considered when formulating district and school plans. The Green Forest School District will develop and disseminate an annual parent activity evaluation report. The report will be shared with parents, staff and community. Parent facilitators, Parent and Family Engagement committee members, and the Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator (Dr. Lisa Carlon – 870-438-5201) will be responsible for this report.

Goal 5: How will the district involve parents in the joint development of the district Title I Application under section 1112 (ACSIP)? Parents will be identified and asked to serve on the School Improvement committees to develop the Title 1 Application by the building principals. School Improvement committees are composed of administrators, teachers and parents with the goals of reviewing and revising the Green Forest District and Campus plans.
