GST – Chapter 1 Construction Project

GST – Chapter 1 Construction Project For this project, you will be given the opportunity to show me not only that you know your vocabulary, but you also know how to do constructions of some of the various vocabulary words. You can choose one of the two options below. This project must be turned in no later than the day of Chapter 1 test (as of right now, that is September 8th). Option #1: Build your own billboard that incorporates and uses the mandated constructions (listed below). This should be done on a minimum of an 11x17 (ideal) paper or a maximum of a poster board sized (this would be EXTREMELY large) paper. All constructions must be clearly labeled, and all construction marks must be visible. Your constructions must “make sense” and be properly incorporated into your drawings…they cannot be just randomly portrayed. Your billboard must be colored and appealing to the eye. Option #2: Create a catalog that includes each of the below-listed constructions. This catalog should “display” and explain each construction just as a clothing catalog displays and portrays its products. If this option is chosen, the project should be put together in the same format as other catalogs. If in doubt, look at various catalogs to get ideas. These catalogs are appealing to the eye and generally have full color pictures of their products. They provide product names, short, but detailed descriptions of their product, catalog numbers for ordering, prices for each item, and they are grouped by style or function. All constructions must be clearly labeled, and all construction marks must be visible. When you price your construction, think of price in terms of usefulness and/or difficulty.

Things to Keep In Mind:    

NO late work will be accepted! All work to be done by hand – No computers should be used All constructions must be clearly labeled, and all construction marks must be visible One construction cannot be used for more than one term from above. For example, you can’t bisect a straight angle, and use it as an angle bisector, straight angle, congruent angles, and right angle.

Name: ___________________________

Rubric Completeness: 5 points total for each of the constructions. 3 points is awarded based on the completed construction. This means that it is correctly drawn, clearly labeled, and all appropriate construction marks are visible. 2 points are awarded based on the incorporation of the drawing into either the billboard or catalog (they must make sense; they can’t be just randomly thrown in there).

_________ Out of 40 points Originality & Artistic Merit: 5 points possible. 3 points will be given as an “average” presentation amongst fellow classmates. BE CREATIVE!!!!!

__________ Out of 5 points

Neatness: 5 points possible. This is given based on the neatness of the constructions. Can you clearly see the construction marks without them being overpowered by other elements of the billboard/catalog? Is your writing neat?

_________ Out of 5 points

Accuracy: 5 points possible. Are all constructions accurate?
