2013 Season Review They say that it is not how you start, but how you finish. What a way to finish the 2013 season. I hope that this year was a life lesson in resiliency and hard work for our players and community. We showed that while good things don't come easy, hard work will eventually pay off. This season was a lesson in faith. Not faith in an omnipotent being, but faith in each other. Faith that if you continue the course and work hard, you will be rewarded. As we begin the PAGE !1

process of finally wrapping up the 2013 season and moving forward, it is tough to not look back at the 2013 seniors and wonder where we would be without them. They have all been a sterling example of what West Catholic Football and High School are all about. They will be missed terribly and we wish them the best of luck with whatever life may bring them. I think we can honestly say that we would not have had the success we did without them and they once again raised the bar high for the 2014 season and senior class. They have certainly left their mark on our program and record book.

Zero Hour Class One of the first steps we take each year to start the next season is a refocus in our zero hour class. After the semester ends seniors will leave our class for good and freshman will have the opportunity to enroll for the first time. It would be ideal if all varsity and JV football players were enrolled in the class, but please communicate with Coach Rohn or Coach Abid if there are issues with taking zero hour. The intensity of the class will increase and the focus will shift again.

Acceleration Training We will once again be offering athletes the opportunity to train at Acceleration Sports Training Center. We would like a group of athletes to be able to start on February 1st. The cost will be $100 per player. Players should see Coach Rohn or Coach Abid if they are interested in Acceleration training or to sign up for a time slot. Those players who start on February 1st should be completed with training before springs sports competitions begin, so any athlete involved in a spring sport should attempt earlier training. After Spring Break, we will offer a second session of training. We will announce those dates soon.

Eighth Grade Lifting Coach Rohn and Coach Abid will be visiting partner grade schools in the coming weeks to speak with eighth graders about weight training opportunities during the winter and spring. Training will begin on January 20th and will be each Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00pm in the West Catholic weight room. All eighth graders are welcome to attend.
