Hamilton Pony Club In conjunction with Waikato Area Pony Club presents the

WAPC Teams Dressage Competition Event open to Financial Members of Waikato Area Pony Club only

Sunday 25th February 2018 Waikato Equestrian Centre, Pukete, Hamilton

Class 1 – Beginners NZPCA (2018) Test BG-1 NZPCA (2018) Test BG-2

Aimed at riders holding who hold no certificate or D certificate.

Class 3 – Intermediate NZPCA (2018) Test J-9 NZPCA (2018) Test I-12

Riders must not have participated in a registered ESNZ dressage competition, or been placed 1st - 3rd third in an unregistered competition, or PC dressage competition (Junior Test F or above), including ODEs. (please be honest)

Class 2 – Junior NZPCA (2018) Test BG-5 NZPCA (2018) Test J-7

Riders who hold C certificate and above are not eligible for this class.   

Class 4 – Advanced (arena 60x20) ESNZ – Test 1D ESNZ – Test 2A

Teams can consist of up to 6 riders (only top 5 scores count) Teams require at least 1 rider in 3 classes, with a maximum of 3 riders in any one class (this should allow greater flexibility in getting team together) Draft riders are encouraged, we will allocate you to a team

Event information & competition details                   

Planned start time is 9am, but this will depend on the number of entries Riders are asked to make sure payment is made into bank account by close of entry. Unpaid entries will not be put in the draw/teams until payment is received The draw and results will be available on Equestrian Entries. Event run under NZPCA Rules – All riders ride at own risk Stallions – Riders to advise organisers of stallions prior to entry, requirements & must comply with the ESNZ article 147. (We reserve the right to refuse entry) Teams require at least 1 rider in 3 classes, with a maximum of 3 riders in any one class. Combos could be: 3/1/1/1, 3/2/1/0, 2/2/2/0, 2/2/1/1 Draft riders should be put forward to be allocated to other teams (or to make up a mixed team), by the hosting club – please do not approach other clubs requesting riders as we will be doing our best to make sure all clubs can put forward a team of at least 5 riders. Riders may ride a second mount for Classes 3 & 4 only, but second mount must ride for another team. Scoring, top 5 individual scores, in each round, count towards overall team points, points awarded 1st =20pts, 2nd =18pts, 3rd=16pts, etc), should we have two or more teams on equal scores then the team with highest dressage % will determine final placing. Individual ribbons to 4th (6th if numbers permit) Official PC uniform must be worn, plaiting expected Dressage callers are allowed for all classes, however, they must call the test as written. No riding in the arenas outside of your test time All NZPCA Dressage tests held in a short arena 40x20, ESNZ Tests are in 60x20 arena Whips are permitted, but must be correct length (incl flapper) 100cm - Ponies, 110cm - Hacks Bits must be “legal” for dressage (no gags, bevels etc). The list of permitted bits can be found on pages 63-66 (if it’s not on the list, it’s not legal for dressage!). Health & Safety & Hazards – 25th February 2018 General Awareness:    

Please be advised - Riding is a High Risk sporting Activity. Riders need to employ Best Practice when competing and handling horses. Please be reminded to keep an eye out for small children and spectators or people on the ground. Please ensure you are not taking risks when managing yourself or your mount.

If you assisting on the day in any capacity please ensure you are: A - using the correct safety equipment i.e. helmets, eyewear, footwear etc. B - using equipment or machinery in a safe and responsible manner C - providing service or support in a manner which allows for the Health and Safety of all concerned.
