Hanover Had a 250th Birthday Party, and We Were There! It was great to hear the applause from parade spectators for our Friends volunteers, along with Park Staff and the Pennsylvania Rangers, as they marched the 250th/150th Hanover Community Pride Parade on Saturday, June 29. Along with our banner out in front carried by Ray & Carolyn Burkentine donning their bright Codorus Blast t-shirts, here is a list of all the different activities that were represented:  Park Manager, Warren Werntz and wife Brenda leading in the DCNR Ranger Vehicle  Rod Gift, Park Ranger 1, escorting Karen Little, the park’s expert bird watcher in the DCNR gator towing a great display of “Animals of the Park”  Dwight Resh, parade organizer (Thanks Dwight & Vickie for letting us gather at your house!), and grandson, Jacob Mendoza in his Campground Host gator loaded with lots of camping gear  Kathy Bealing and Suzanne Landis guiding a kayak with a patriotic scarecrow for Halloween in the Park (Thank you Home Depot for the use of the cart.)  Sandy Rushton with her ice skates and cross country skis ready for some snow,  Emma Myers going for a mountain bike ride,  Glen & Shirley Bankert as hikers,  Jessica Sheely, her daughter Victoria and their two dogs, Tank & Maliki enjoying a walk,  Bob Maher taking photos (& Mark Landis for taking photos from the sidelines)  Janet Maher with her Outpost Camp store sign selling fire wood and ice  Lisa Emig going on a picnic,  Heath Chesney all dressed up for the pool and scuba diving, with elephant floaties and all!  And who could miss the Pennsylvania Rangers? What an impressive display of horsemanship with all those beautiful horses all dressed up in style. Of course there were many more things that could have been included but the crowd still got the message that Codorus is a great place to visit for lots of fun and educational outdoor activities!
