Besides its 2008 Olympians, Princeton sent a handful of current and former rowers to international competitions last year. Current men’s lightweight rowers James Donovan ’10 and Robin Prendes ’11, along with open rower Ashton Brown ’11, traveled to Brandenburg, Germany on July 17-20 to compete for the U.S. at the U-23 World Championships. Simon Carcagno ’98 was named to the U.S. LM8+ that raced at the Senior World Championships in Linz, Austria on July 22-27, and Jesse Karmazin ’07 competed at the Paralympic Games in Beijing from Sept 6-17. Dating back to the summer of 2007, Princeton has been represented 27 different times in international competitions. That follows a memorable 2006 performance, when the Princeton open women routed the field to an NCAA title and the heavyweight men won both an Eastern and a Henley title. Last year, both lightweight programs were both ranked No. 1 nationally during their respective seasons. It is truly a proud time for Princeton Crew, and we invite you to learn more about the program throughout this book.
