Hi Friend! After a short sabbatical I am excited to return this fall as the Portland Pilots official mascot. While away, I have made several improvements to my physique in order to keep up with the other mascots around the country. However, not all my time has been spent in the gym. Being a riverboat pilot myself, I took the time to travel and visit our Pilot student-athletes from around the world! While in Japan, I visited current men’s basketball player Taishi Ito and we talked Pilot Hoops. Did you know in 2008-09: • Eric Reveno was named WCC Coach of the Year. • The Pilots received their first postseason bid (CIT) since 1996. • Portland ranked 2nd nationally in team 3-pt shooting percentage (.418). • We have 12 returners this season, including reigning WCC Newcomer of the Year T.J. Campbell and All-WCC First Team guard NikRaivio. Watch your mailbox for more on my adventures throughout the summer!
