Child and Youth Programs (CYP) Hiring Event Qualifications Station Checklist Qualifications Station Checklist Station Leads must be available during the event to provide onsite training for Qualifications Station staff, facilitate oversight and quality assurance for the HET qualification process, and perform a second level review if Command Center staff require clarification. Station Runner: Folder Distribution

 Place incoming folders in the station inbox.  Seat the next applicant in the station’s designated waiting area where he/she remains until individually called by qualifiers. Note: There should be only one or two Station Runners in the room to minimize confusion.

Documentation Review

Station Staff:  Review the applicant’s education and certification documentation, résumé, and/or application.  Use the position-specific Qualifications Checklist to review and determine the applicant’s qualifications.

One-on-One Discussion

Station Staff:  Engage the applicant in a one-on-one conversation. Discussions should cover:       

Position requirements Overview of the CYP organization Location preference Age preference Opportunities for advancement Employee Educational and Professional Development processes and benefits Progression within CY I/II Pay Band, as applicable

 Describe the position for which the applicant is qualified to interview.  Initial the Hiring Event Applicant File Cover Sheet and record eligibility for a position(s), location preference, and age preference.  File the Applicant Qualifications Checklist in Pocket 3 of the Hiring Event Applicant File. Station Runner Handoff

Station Staff:  Introduce the applicant to a Station Runner who will escort him/her to the waiting area for the interview.
