Please read through all of the instructions before you begin your project.

Pattern #24926-LtBlu1……………...1/4 yard Batting………………....……....1 piece 50” x 50” Cutting Instructions: Please read all instructions carefully before beginning. All seams are a scant ¼” which is included in all measurements unless otherwise stated. Cut pieces in order listed. Label all pieces. Refer to all illustrations and the quilt image for proper cutting and assembly. It is strongly recommended to starch all pieces especially anywhere making a bias cuts. * wof = width of fabric, lof =length of fabric.
Fabric A - Puppy patch (24920-Blu1) 1. Fussy-cut (8, 2 of each picture) 5 3/4” x 5 3/4" squares. Label “A”. Fabric B – Puppy shelf (24921-Mul1) 1. Fussy-cut (4) strips 5 1/4” x wof. Begin cutting 1/4" above and ending 1/4” below the strip with the groups of dogs. Label: “Border 1”.
Fabric C – Tossed Puppies (24922-Blu1) 1. Cut (1) piece 42 1/2" x 50”. Cut (2) pieces 8” x 25 1/4”. Sew the pieces together to make a 50” x 50” piece for the backing.
2. Fussy-cut (1) 8” x 8” square. Label: “Block 4”. Fabric D – Puppy Scenic (24923-Mul1) 1. Fussy-cut, on-point, (4) 8” x 8” squares. Label: “Block 3”.
Fabric E – Pine Cones (24924-Gre1) 1. Cut (5) 2 1/4" x wof strips and set aside for the binding. 2. Cut (8) 5” x 5” squares, then, cut each square in half on the diagonal to make a total of (16) triangles. Label: “C”. Fabric F – Pine Cone stripe (24925-Blu1) 1. Fussy-cut (12) 2 1/4" x lof” strips. Begin cutting 1/4" to the left and ending 1/4" to the right of the pine garland stripe. 2. Sew (3) strips together, end to end, to make one long strip. Repeat with the remaining strips to make a total of (4) long strips. Label: “Border 2”. Fabric G – Snow texture, blue (24926-Blu1) 1. Cut (2) 11 3/4" x 11 3/4" squares, then, cut each square in quarters on the diagonal twice to make a total of (8) triangles. Label: “set-ins”. 2. Cut (2) 6 1/4” x 6 1/4" squares then cut each square in half on the diagonal to make a total of (4) triangles. Label: “corners”.

Fabric H – Snow texture, light (24926-LtBlu) 1. Cut (8) 5” x 5” squares, then, cut each square in half on the diagonal to make a total of (16) triangles. Label: “B”.

Piecing Instructions: *Please refer to the quilt image and the layout diagram on the last page to accurately arrange the pieces for the quilt top. Because of the directionality of the fabric, it is necessary to carefully check the orientation of the pieces before sewing in place.
Block 1 1. Sew one “B” piece to opposite sides of an “A” piece.
2. Sew one “B” piece to each of the remaining two sides of “A”.
4. Repeat steps 1-3, using the (3) remaining “A” squares for a total of four and label “Block 2”. Assembly: 1. Using the quilt image and the quilt layout diagram on page 4, arrange the blocks and then sew them together. 2. Center and sew one “Border 1” strip to one edge of the quilt. Sew in place, beginning and ending 1/4" in from corner. DO NOT trim the excess fabric. 3. Repeat on the remaining three sides of the quilt top. 4. Miter the corners and then trim off the excess fabric. 5. Repeat steps 2-4 above with the “Border 2” strips. Finishing:
3. Square up block to measure 8”. 4. Repeat steps 1-3, using (3) different “A” squares for a total of four blocks and label “Block 1”. Block 2 1. Sew one “C” piece to opposite sides of an “A” piece.
1. Layer the quilt top with the batting and backing and quilt as desired. 2. Trim the backing and batting even the quilt top. 3. Sew the binding strips end to end with a diagonal seam to form one long strip. 4. Press the strip in half, lengthwise, wrong sides together. 5. Sew to the quilt front, matching the raw edges of the binding with the edge of quilt, mitering the corners. 6. Turn the binding to the back and stitch in place. Enjoy your quilt!
