LICENSE AND FEE INFORMATION License Period is January 1st through December 31st. License renewals are due December 31st. Applications received after July 1st will be charged half the annual fee. The fee for a Home-Based Occupation Business License is $0, unless any of the following apply, in which case the fee is $25. There will be more than one delivery associated with the business per day. There will be unusual traffic created in your neighborhood because of the business.

Home Occupation Business License Requirements Section 1715 of the Vineyard Zoning Ordinance The following regulations are established to provide minimum standards for the establishment and operation of home occupations. Home occupation may be approved following the receipt of a Home Occupation Application and subject to the following conditions. The home occupation is conducted entirely within a dwelling and is carried on in the dwelling only by occupants of the dwelling. The home occupation does not involve the use of any accessory buildings or yard space for storage or activites outside of the dwelling. The home occupation shall contain no facilities for the display of goods. Any sale of goods and services shall constitute a clearly incidental part of the home occupation. No commercial vehicles are used except one delivery truck which does not exceed threefourths (3/4) ton rated capacity. The home occupation is clearly incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling for dwelling purposes and does not change the character of the building from that of a dwelling. Signs are limited to one non-flashing sign not larger in an area than two square feet. Not more than the equivalent of twenty-five percent (25%) of the ground floor area of the dwelling is devoted to the home occupation. The home occupation shall obtain, and maintain, a business license from the Town. Entrance to the home occupation from outside shall be the same entrance normally used by the residing family except when required otherwise by regulation of the State Health Department or other public agency. The physical appearance, traffic, and other activities in connection with the home occupation are not contrary to the intent of the Zoning District in which the home occupation is located.
