WEST CHURCH, HUNTERSVILLE, NORFOLK, VA – Homebuyer Assistance Program administered by Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority provided an affordable newly constructed single family home and direct homebuyer assistance to 13 first-time homebuyer income eligible families. This now charming, attractive community of 31 homes developed on a seven acre mixed income site was once littered with blighted houses and apartment buildings in a community previously afflicted with crime, violence and despair. The HOME Program funded direct homebuyer assistance costs and other related project costs (including homebuyer education and counseling, progress inspections, etc.) totaling $469,656 Homebuyer Assistance Funds.
