What To Expect The Hotel del Coronado Tour is a partnership between the Hotel del Coronado and the Coronado Historical Association. Only tours led by the Coronado Historical Association are allowed into the Hotel, making this an exclusive experience. Our docent will lead you through a stroll of the hotel, sharing stories of the fascinating history and happenings. Please keep in mind that this 90-minute tour will involve walking, standing, and stairs. Comfortable shoes, a hat, and water bottle are recommended. Your docent will have your name on the reservation list and will begin the tour at the scheduled time, so please plan enough time for parking. Starting Location •
The tour begins at the 10-foot freestanding white clock off of Orange Avenue. The clock is located adjacent to the Orange Avenue sidewalk in front of the Hotel’s Grande Hall.
Travel Take the I-5 to the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge/Highway 75 Do not stop at the toll booth, there is no longer a toll to cross the bridge • The speed limit immediately after the toll bridge is 25 miles an hour, so relax and adjust to Island tempo • Turn left on Orange Ave (this is MainStreet Coronado) • •

You will see the Coronado Historical Association Museum is just as Orange Ave begins to curve at 1100 Orange Ave. Continue on Orange Ave. south towards to Hotel Del’s Grande Hall at 1500 Orange Ave.
Parking via Personal Vehicles • •

Parking on the residential street around the Coronado Historical Association Museum is recommended - we are just 3 blocks from the Hotel del Coronado. Parking on Orange Ave is free on Sundays, on designated holidays, and for those with a Handicapped placard. During those times the 2-hour limit is still enforced. All other times, parking on Orange Ave is $0.25 per hour with the 2-hour limit. Parking on residential streets is permitted during the day without restriction In the summer, parking tends to be difficult so arrive early. Parking on the east side of Orange Ave is often easier to find than the west side. If you park on a Hotel del Coronado parking lot and spend more than $50.00 at the Hotel they will validate your parking at a discounted rate. Traveling via Tour Buses/Large Group Tour Vehicles • • • •
Buses CANNOT turn into the Hotel del Coronado Driveway. Guests can be dropped off at the 10-foot freestanding white clock in front of the Hotel. The curb is marked red but we have permission to load & unload only. The driver can park the bus along Silver Strand Blvd, south of the Hotel Del between Avenida Del Sol and Avenue De Las Arenas. We highly recommend that the driver stay with the bus. The driver can pick up at the same drop off location (white clock), buses are not allowed to park and wait there.

The balance of your tour cost is to be paid via one check, one credit card or cash a week before the tour date. Payments can be made by credit card over the phone (619-435-7242) or by mailed check made to the Coronado Historical Association. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date for your group tour. Final headcount for your tour is needed a week before the tour date. To maintain the quality of the experience and to be respectful of Hotel guests, the total number of participants must be within a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum 40 participants. The tour involves walking, standing, and stairs. There are alternative routes without stairs, so please let us know if your group needs access or accommodations to ramps or elevators.
