The Course:

Registration:

The Canal Loop is 95% single-track. It contains dense wooded areas, rolling hills, and rocky climbs. It is a moderate course, with a several optional technical sections for advanced riders. 100 feet of elevation change.

Online registration is preferred. Online registration is available through bikereg.com; search for the event name. The deadline for regular online registration is July 25th. Late online registration will then be available until September 11th, 2200 CST; $10 increase per person/team. You may register at the race location on September 13th from 1400-1900. Participants registering after that time will incur a $15 late fee per person/ team. No day-of registration.

The Race: The 12 hour will be held on the Canal Loop trail. The start/finish location will be on the Scenic Drive, in the parking field next to the trail head. The transition area will be located in that field. There will be a Le Mans mass start at 0900. It will be located on the access road under the canal bridge. Those starting will run aprx. 0.2 miles to the Scenic Drive where the bikes will positioned. Transitioning and other instructions will be given on race day. Schwag Bag Pickup/Waiver: Every registrant will receive a schwag bag that contains a t-shirt, sponsor goods, race freebies, etc. You may pick this up once you register and obtain your bib number.

Rules:

This race is USA Cycling sanctioned and permitted. All USAC rules apply. Pro and Cat 1 racers must have an annual USAC license.

In all amateur categories there can be a max of 1 Pro/Cat 1 racer. Each member of the team must complete at least 1 lap.

Camping/Lodging:

Solo Comp., Duo Comp. & Solo SS $250, $150, $100. Solo Amateur, 6-Hour Solo, Duo Amateur, & 4 Person - Merchandise Awards Payouts and Prizes will go to top 3 racers/teams. Cash categories must have at least 5 racers to guarantee full purse. Reduced Purse is 100/75/50 Awards will be held at 2230.

Entry Fees: Solo Competitive & Solo Single Speed - $70.00 Solo Amateur & 6-Hour Solo $60.00 Duo Competitive - $140.00/Team Duo Amateur - $120.00/Team 4 Person - $240.00/Team One Day USAC License - $5.00 The director reserves the right to modify or cancel the race at any time due to extreme conditions/ unforeseen circumstances.

The entire Scenic Drive will be closed for this event. Free camping is allowed for Friday and Saturday. The race area parking lot and access road are available for campsites. No parking or camping is allowed directly off of Hwy 453. Perks: Camping, camp fires, etc on Friday & Saturday evenings. There will be a Pasta Dinner from 6-8 on Saturday, during the race. Free to all participants and volunteers. Freebies from sponsors and the event on Saturday night.

Rules/Regulations: The full list of rules is located on the event website. Also information about mechanicals on the trail, lights, behavior, etc. There will be a mandatory racer meeting at 0830 on race day.

Directions: Exit 31, off of I-24. Go South on HWY 453, (The Trace), aprx. 2 miles, Wood-N-Wave will be on the right. Once pass that the Scenic Drive (Kentucky Lake Drive) will be the first road on the right after the Canal Bridge.
