How To Download Data From CDTS
1. Summary CDTS is a data transmission system which enables clients to download data generated at BGI. Clients may access http://cdts-sz.genomics.cn for ShenZhen CDTS, and http://cdts-hk.genomics.cn for HongKong CDTS, and http://cdts-wh.genomics.cn for WuHan CDTS, and http://cdts-tj.genomics.cn for TianJin CDTS.
2. Download data from CDTS Two ways to download data from CDTS, through website, or via ftp tools.
2.1. Through website 2.1.1. Login CDTS Take ShenZhen CDTS for example, and HongKong, WuHan, TianJin CDTS is just the same. Open your browser to access http://cdts-sz.genomics.cn , then enter your username and password provided by project manager, as follows,
(Limititations:
CDTS does not support Google Browser. After you enter username and password, it reports error like this,
CDTS does support both firefox and IE, but not Safari. 5 processes/user, 600k/process. It means one user can open five download process at the same time, and the maximum download speed of each process can be 600k theoretically. )

Click “FTP Download” to download the files you need. Save to the hard drive.

2.2.Via ftp tools BGI suggests to use FileZilla Client. It is a fast and reliable cross-platform for FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive graphical user interface. Features: Easy to use Supports FTP, FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)

CDTS does not support transmission resuming at break-points or downloading the entire directory, but FileZilla supports. You can download FileZilla_3.5.0_win32-setup.exe from http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client.

Client should have user FTP address, user name and password from the project manager. If you do not have, please contact your PM or sales representative. Enter the given information to Host: enter cdts-sz.genomics.cn for Shenzhen, cdts-hk.genomics.cn for HongKong, cdts-wh.genomics.cn for WuHan, cdts-tj.genomics.cn for TianJin. Username: enter username provided by project manager. Password: enter password provided by project manager. Port: enter “21” Optional: click “Edit”->”set up”, you can try to reset the timeout to 120s for example since the default timeout of filezilla is 20s when you log in overtime. Then click “Quickconnect”,

After connection, as follows, the blue area on the left is your local disk, and the red area on the right is the data of CDTS.

How To Download Data From CDTS Select the path to store the download files, then double-click the files on right box. The download information/progress is shown in the lower black box.
2.2.4. Resume transmission If your download is interrupted, you can use FileZilla to resume transmission at break-points. First, you must connect the CDTS system again and select the same path where your download file stored last. Then select “Resume” and click “OK” to resume transmission.
