The key when giving out the books is to make it fun and light hearted. Don’t make it so serious all the time. Have a good time with your past clients, prospects and colleagues. Then, you MUST mark the pages, dog ear the corner of the page, and put your business card in it. Listen to the audio to hear the pages that you will want to use. Then share your experience in learning about what’s in the book and commit them to reading the parts you marked. Lastly, let them know you will be following up to see what they think. These are some of the phrases and scripting that will help you set more appointments and help people using the Safe Money Millionaire book. Past Clients or Business Partners “Hey I’ve got some new things I really want to show you, when can I come by, or when can we get together”.
“What have you been up to?” Then tell them what you have been up to… Hey I picked this up for you, this is part of my work now. Have you seen or read it? “I know you are busy, I know you have a lot going on with_________ (work, current company, family, kids whatever) but if you just take a few minutes tonight before you go to sleep and just read these highlighted pages it may be beneficial”. If you are comfortable saying something like this, “Hey I know you are busy and have a lot going on, but sometime today you’ll be on the john and you just gotta read a few of these pages I’ve highlighted for you”. Or simply “Read this on the john” ““You deserve to take a minute and read this. You deserve to take a minute to help yourself. I know you may have a partner or a friend that deserves to read this too. Here is an extra book to give to them” “This book has really helped me, I hope it helps you as well”
When you know their niche or values “I remember you said you really like the stock market. I’ve highlighted a few of these pages and you might like to read them because they are about the stock market.” “What do you do for a living?” “So when are you planning on retiring?” Then you can say that you help people who are in their particular occupation “I help truckers, or I help bikers, or I help _______ with their retirement plans. Would you be willing to look at this?” What do you like to do? _____they say a hobby. Well would you like to do_____(the hobby) more? Let me show you a plan that will help you do that more.
As a thank you or as a gift: “Here is a book that has helped my life and my income and has given me the peace of mind to not be stressed financially and I want to give it to you.”
When you meet Strangers: I like your car. What do you do to be driving such a nice vehicle? You must be doing something right to be driving around on a motorcycle in the middle of work week? “I understand that you may be short on time but I found this book and it’s really been helpful for me”.
With anyone: I understand how hard you are working and you may not have enough time to do the things you would like. I understand that your overhead may be really high and that you’re probably not beefing up your retirement. You deserve to take a minute to help yourself. You know, let me show you how can do a few things to really benefit your children and/or grandchildren. You’ve got kids or grandkids? Great, I’ll show you how our meeting will benefit them even more than it will benefit you? Or I know you’ve got children and I have a book that will really benefit their future.
Follow up: “Did you have the chance to use the restroom and read that chapter I told you about.” “Hey, I want to get together I’ve got that book for you I mentioned?”
