H uamashraju, N orthw est Ridge and A lpam ayo. Pete Billington, Steve Callen, D ave Wilson and I climbed H uam ashraju by its northw est ridge on M ay 8. The ridge offered steep, good climbing to the summit. Short snowstorms delayed us in the afternoon and so we had to bivouac in a cave just below the summit. A fter a 12-hour w ait w ithout sleeping bags, we crossed the face and descended the south ridge. W e climbed A lpam ayo by its north ridge, reaching the northern sum m it on M ay 27. A
