Installing Lønn 5.0
This guide explains first time installation of Huldt & Lillevik Lønn 5.0. The database engine MS SQL 2005/2008 Express needs to be installed on the server.. If you need to install MS SQL 2008 Express see ”Installing MS SQL 2008 Express” on page 24. The database engine SQL server counts the number of total users on the system, and not the amount of concurrent users. The number of users is then equal to the number of workstations where the Lønn5 application is running from. Hardware and software requirements The installation checks the computer and cancels the installation if the requirements is not fulfilled. Before the installation you should check if the computer meets the hw/sw requirements. If you are installing the program and database on the same computer, it is the server requirements that applies. Workstation requirements (minimum req.) Pentium IV 1-GHz Windows Vista or XP PRO SP2 256 MB RAM 50 MB free disk space for the program 500 MB free disk space for data (depending on the amount of transactions) Super VGA display (display resolution 1024 x 768) Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer
Database server requirements - Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 MS SQL Express Pentium IV 1-GHz, Windows 2003 Server or newer 512 MB RAM 250 MB free disk space for standard SQL Server 800 MB free disk space for data (depending on the amount of transactions) CD-drive Super VGA display (display resolution 1024 x 768)

Preparing the installation Prerequisites • The user who is installing must have create, change and delete right on the computer. Procedure 1. Decide where the database and program is to be installed. • If the payroll system is only to be used from one PC, you can choose to install the database and program on the same computer. • If more than one workstation is running the payroll system, you should install the database and application on a server 2. We recommend closing all open programs and restarting the computer before installation. 3. If you are using antivirus program, we recommend you to scan the CD before installation. If this test does not report any virus, you can deactivate the antivirus program before installation. This is very important to ensure a trouble free installation. 4.
Remember to activate the antivirus program after the installation.
Installing the database You install the database files and the database engine (if not installed earlier) on the server. MS SQL 2005/2008 Express 1. Check with the IT-manager if the database engine MS SQL 2005/2008 Express is already installed on the server. 2. If you are going to use the database engine MS SQL 2005 Express and it is not installed, see ”Installing Microsoft SQL 2005 Express” on page 24.

Installing databasefiles Prerequisites • SQL Server 2005/MS SQL 2005 Express SP3 or newer has to be installed. • If MS SQL Server 2005 or 2008 is already installed, you should have the latest Service Pack for the database engine installed: You can find Service pack for SQL server here: http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver Procedure for CD-installation 1. Put the CD in the CD-player on the computer where the database engine is installed. You get the following welcome screen on the CD:
If you can’t see the welcome screen automatically, click Start, choose Run and write d:\HL_CD (if the CD-drive is mapped as D:\). Alternatively you can use Windows Explorer to open the welcome screen. 2. Choose ”Installer første gang”. 3. Choose ”Database". Then the window for the database installation wizard should appear, see next page.
Procedure for downloading installation files from our website www.huldt-lillevik.no 1. Open Internet Explorer (or any other browser) and go to https://www.huldt-lillevik.no/page.aspx?path=135566,163066,210918,213821,221488 2. On the bottom of the page, click and download HL5_S_Setup.exe for database installation, Save the file on the local computer. Double-click the file to execute.

4. Click Neste (Next). Information about license terms appears
5. Read the license terms and click Ja (Yes) if you approve these terms. The following window appears if you are installing on a SQL2005 Express server.

6. When installing the MS SQL 2005 Express: Select the name of the computer where the database is installed followed by \ and existing instance (\ HL if you have used our standard installation of MS SQL 2005 Express). Select to connect with Server authentication and enter the username sa and the password that was created during the installation of MS SQL 2005 Express. Contact an administrator to get the name of the computer / instance, and credentials. When installed on the local machine, you can choose the computer name (local)\HL. When you are installing on a server, you MUST enter the physical name of the server. If the server is called server1 set Server1\HL.

7. When installing the SQL Server: Select the database server and credentials, if you connect with server authentication. Contact your system administrator for the name of computer and login information. 8. Click Neste (Next).
9. The system suggests the folder for the database and log files to be installed. You should generally not change this. The suggested folder may vary depending on the type of SQL Server that is installed.

10. Click Neste (Next).
11. Choose what type of maintenance plan you are going to use for the database. When installing on SQL Server: Choose Microsoft SQL Agent. When installing on MS SQL 2005 Express: Choose HL Lønn Maintenance Service. Choose Ingen (None) if you don’t need a maintenance plan (applies for smaller installations). 12. Click Neste (Next). The system shows you the choices you've made so far in the installation

13. Click Installer (Install) to start the installation of the database files. Database files are being installed. This can take some time, depending on the computer hardware. When the files have been installed, you get the last window for the database installation. If any of the system files is in use during installation, you need to restart the computer. 14. Click Fullfør (Finish). The database installation is now completed.
Installing the application You need to install the application on every workstation where Lønn 5.0 is to be used. Performing installation of the application Prerequisites • Database installation must be completed. • The user who is installing the application must have create, change and delete right on the computer. • You have to run the correct installation file depending on whether the installation is run on a 32 or 64 bits server.

Procedure for CD-installation 1. Put the CD in the CD-player on the computer where the database engine is installed. You get the following welcome screen on the CD:

If you are installing the program on a 32-bit server, do the following: a) Choose ”Installer første gang” . b) Choose Program. 6. Then the window for the program installation wizard will appear

5. Click Neste (Next). You get this window where you select the database server and connection information to SQL Server. 4. When installing the MS SQL 2005 Express: Select the name of computer where the database is installed followed by \ and HL (instance name). Select to connect with server authentication and enter sa as username and the password that was created during installation of MS SQL 2005 Express. Contact your system administrator for the name of the computer/instance, and credentials.

When installed on the local machine, you can choose the computer name (local) \ HL. When you install the server, you MUST enter the physical name of the server where the database is installed. If the server named server1, enter server1\HL. 7. When installing the SQL Server: Enter the database server and credentials for the database engine. You should not normally change the installation suggests. Please contact your system administrator if you need help with this.
Windows authentication will not normally be used for program installation.
8. Click Neste (Next). Next window appears where you get to choose type of installation.

9. Choose the type of installation and the folder where the application is to be installed. We recommend using the Fullstendig (Complete) installation type. To change the program or document path installation, select the Tilpasset (Custom) field. 10. Click Neste (Next). If you choose Custom installation you get the following window:
a) If you need to change to program folder, select Huldt & Lillevik Lønn 5.0 and click Endre (Change).

b) If you need to change the document folder, mark the line Dokumentområde and click Endre (Change). 11. When installing on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 the following screen appears:
Choose ”Alle som bruker datamaskinen..” (”Everyone who uses this computer”) and click Installer (Install).
12. Click Neste (Next). The following window appears:

Program files are being installed. This may take some time, depending on your computer’s hardware. The following window appears when the installation program has finished installing the files.
14. Click Fullfør (Finish).
Setting up workstations If you have installed the Lønn 5.0 program on the server, you must run the setup for workstations (HLLonn 5.0 WSSsetup.exe) from each workstation that will use the payroll system. The workstation is then connected to the program folder where the application is installed. Look away from this description if you have installed the program directly on current workstations. Prerequisites 1. The workspace for saving files that Lønn 5.0 generates must be shared on the server. This is standard location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\HuldtLillevik\HLLonn (the folder Documents can also be displayed as Shared Documents). 2. Program folder for Lønn 5.0 must be shared on the server. This is standard location: C:\Program Files\HuldtLillevik\Lonn. 3. The workspace and program folder must be mapped on the local machine, and can be in the same or different folders.

Procedure 1. On the local workstation you choose the folder where the program is installed Double-click the file HLLonn 5.0 WSSsetup.exe. The following window appears.

3. It is recommended to leave the field MDAC checked. Note that the computer must be restarted after installation if MDAC is installed The field Brukernivå (HKEY_CURRENT_USER) is normally not checked. This field is intended for terminal server environment where multiple installations of the payroll system are run on the same computer. 4. Click Neste (Next). In the next window you specify the workspace for files generated from the payroll system.

In this example the workspace is defined as O:\HuldtLillevik\HLLonn on the server The target folder is the same as the workspace on the server. For the Huldt&Lillevik addin RapportGenerator (ReportGenerator), it is important that all Workstations are set up against the same workspace. 5. Choose Neste (Next). In the following window you specify the folder where the program is installed.

In this example the program is installed in the folder K:\HuldtLillevik on the server. 5. Click Neste (Next). The system will display the choices you have made throughout the installation.
6. Click Neste (Next) to start the installation. When the installation is finished, the final window for the workstation setup is displayed.
If any of the system files are in use during installation, you will be asked to restart the computer after installation. 7. Click Fullfør (Finish).

Configuration of Windows 2008 Server If you have the application installed on a Windows 2008 server, you need to change the Windows firewall settings for the SQL instance. Procedure 1. Choose Start | All Programs | Microsoft SQL Server 2008 | Configuration Tools | SQL Server Configuration Manager on Windows SQL 2008 Server. 2. Choose SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration.
3. Click on the used instance, for example Protocols for HL, and check that TCP/IP is Enabled . 4. Right click on the protocol TCP/IP and choose Properties.

5. Write down the number in the field TCP Dynamic Ports. 6. Choose Start | Control Panel | Windows Firewall. The following window is displayed:

8. Enter a describing name in the Name field and the TCP/IP port that is being used in the field Port number. Make sure that TCP is selected under Protocol. Click OK. 9. Also check registry settings on the local workstation. Start | All Programs | Huldt & Lillevik | Huldt & Lillevik Lønn 5.0 | Sjekk Registry. Enter the TCP port in the field Databaseserver under Dataconnects. You need to do this when there are multiple SQL-instances, that uses a different TCP port other than the standard TCP port 1433.
Installing MS SQL 2008 R2 Express To install SQL 2008 R2 Express you need to download the software from Microsoft at the following address: http://www.microsoft.com/express/database Make sure that you download the correct version depending on if you are running the installation on a 32 or 64 bit server.
Hardware and software requirements Pentium IV 1,6 GHz, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows XP Service Pack 3 or above. 17. Click Next. The next screen lets you choose how to connect to the SQL Server 2008 Express.
Choose Mixed Mode under Authentication Mode, and enter a password for the SQL-administrator account (sa-account). The password needs to contain small and large letters and numbers, for instance Demo1234. * If you choose a different password, make sure to write it down, for later use.
You need to add a user that has administrative rights. If you are logged on the pc/server as administrator, click Add Current User. If you need to add more users, click Add and add the domain users that needs to have SQL server administrative rights. * If you want to change the standard target folder for the database files, Logfiles etc. – click on the Data Directories tab.

Here you can go and check if there are any updates for SQL 2008 Express by clicking Search for product updates. Then you can close the window.
How to change TCP/IP configuration on SQL server If Microsoft SQL Express is installed in a server, you need to activate the TCP/IP protocols for the HL-instance. 1. Choose Start | All Programs | Microsoft SQL Server 2008 | Configuration Tools | SQL Server Configuration Manager.
