Personal Reflection Exercises... I give myself permission to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit.

I give myself permission to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit. I have the freedom to lavishly nourish my body, mind and spirit. It is more than okay for me to pamper my body with massages and skin moisturizers. It is more than okay for me to indulge my mind in a great book. It is more than okay for me to spend time building myself up in prayer. To nurture my body, I regularly take time to exercise. My exercise routine, combined with a healthy diet, is my recipe for a better me. Getting a full night of restful, uninterrupted sleep is also a priority that contributes to my physical health. I top all of this off with good habits, which include keeping toxins out of my system. My mind is the starting line of my thoughts, feelings and actions; therefore I must cultivate it. I challenge my mind daily. My schedule always has room for a good read. My mind is trained to focus on delightful things. I protect my eyes, ears and heart from negativity by limiting the time I

spend in front of the TV. Instead, I go outside and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. I maintain a healthy spirit by feeding it a balance diet of love and reflection. Reflecting helps me identify and avoid situations that have a negative impact on my spirit. I spend my time doing the things I love. I am sensitive to the spirit within me and listen to its voice. It is more than okay for me to have a healthy mind, body and spirit because the trio helps me to live my best life. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. What can I do to benefit my body? 2. How can I challenge my mind? 3. How can I nurture my spirit today?

Personal Reflection Exercises... I have no need to hold onto reminders of addiction. There is no use for them in my life.

I have no need to hold onto reminders of addiction. There is no use for them in my life. I let go of reminders of addictions. There is no use for them in my life because I know that I am far stronger than my cravings. Instead, I focus on what I know to be true as I move into a healthier lifestyle. I know that cravings are an inevitable part of addiction and that sometimes they can be so powerful that they eclipse all else. At these times, there is only so much I can do to make them disappear, so I simply ride them out. I do not degrade myself for having cravings because I know that it is my actions that matter. I do not pretend that things are easy when they are not. I know that being honest with my feelings and admitting my struggles yields ever-increasing maturity, which helps me on my journey toward recovery. I know that I am not alone. I have let go of the idea that no one else would understand.

In reality, I know that many, many people have gone through the same struggles as me. They understand very well what it is like and they are more than willing to help me through this time in my life, when I allow them to. I seek out these people and take advantage of their support because I know that by being open, honest, and surrounded by understanding individuals, I can develop into the multi-dimensional, healthy person that I was created to be. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. Do I have unrealistic expectations that I should be able to make my cravings disappear? 2. Do I seek out those who are understanding and supportive of my new healthy lifestyle choices? 3. Am I honest with those who are close to me when I am struggling?

Personal Reflection Exercises... My body deserves to be nourished and satisfied with healthy fuels.

My body deserves to be nourished and satisfied with healthy fuels. I take care of my body because it is the only one I have. As a gift from my Creator, my body deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I am the only person accountable for what goes into my body. I take that responsibility very seriously because I want to keep it nourished and satisfied in order to be able to enjoy all other areas of life. I eat balanced meals every day that supply my body all the nutrients it needs to function well. I follow the guidelines of what a person my age should eat. I actively research the latest information from health professionals on foods. I choose foods that are free from pesticides and preservatives in order to keep my body clean. Before I eat, I always wash my fruits and vegetables carefully. Daily, I reap the rewards of a healthy lifestyle through renewed strength and energy. When I practice healthy habits, I feel alive, alert, and happy.

Although I enjoy food, I eat only as a necessity of living. I stay away from unhealthy social eating. My mind is strong enough for me to make dietary changes to improve my overall well-being. When I fill up with healthy fuel, my engine runs smoothly. I enjoy the expedition of life much more when my vehicle is in good repair. Today, I choose fuels that are healthy and I keep my body running smoothly because I am worth it. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. What do I feed my body? 2. What are the rewards of living a healthy lifestyle? 3. Am I making wise food choices so I can enjoy a healthier life?

Personal Reflection Exercises... The more I take care of myself, the better I feel.

The more I take care of myself, the better I feel. Naturally, being healthy feels good physically, but it also feels good spiritually. I take care of myself by eating healthy foods and drinking plenty of water. I also take care of myself by getting enough exercise and sleep. Doing these things makes me feel good physically as my health improves each day. I am strong and I am fit. When I take care of myself in these ways I am also made better in spirit and as a whole. My mind is clearer and my body is strong. My spirit is fortified because of the things I do to take care of myself. The more I do these things the better I feel; I have more energy and I think more clearly. Even my mood is improved when I take care of myself. My body is strong and I feel powerful and full of energy. I wake up rested in the mornings and I am prepared for whatever may come my way. My health is improved and continues to get better every day.

Getting the rest and relaxation I need is also a way in which I take care of myself. This fortifies my mind and spirit as well as my body. Today, I will continue to focus on taking care of myself, meeting my needs and improving my body, mind and spirit. I will eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, get exercise, and spend some time relaxing before getting plenty of sleep. I will breathe in my health and exhale an improved me. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. Have I taken care of myself today? 2. What areas do I need to improve to take better care of myself? 3. How have I enriched my life by taking care of my health?
